why wouldn't you?

Renaissance, Touch & Studio are all capable of running MPC Software 2.0

Why would you lump the Touch in alongside the new standalones?

Ultimately I want to avoid a situation where we have 'ghost' forums that rarely get posts, and also want to avoid topic duplication, which is unfortunately what happens a lot with the three 1000/2500/jjos forums.

There's good arguments for all scenarios; just the one 'MPC Software' forum makes sense as they all run MPC Software, however the Ren/Studio have a different UI, so I can see good reason to split them off, leaving the touch UI MPCs together in their own forum. But I can also see the advantage of having the standalones in their own forum, as they'll have their own unique issues.

For the moment, I'll leave everything lumped together as that's the easy option, and reassess once the X and Live are released.

The Touch is a pure controller like the Studio/Ren, but it uses the same Touch UI as the Live/X. So it can equally be lumped together with either 'generation' depending on the perspective of the post.

but the MPC Touch was just the beginning of a new chapter in the MPC and its form was starkly different from the REN and Studio.

Clearly the Touch is has more in common with with the Live then it does with the Ren and Studio.

well obviously the X and live just go announced; however now we see the full extent of the new range it is clear that the Touch and Live belong in the same category, as does the X.

The touch screen devices all represent the new MPC workflow; whereas the Ren and studio are controller copies of the old 1980's workflow.

I'm fine with how you have it now! Why have more than one forum when they all use the same software? Maybe a name change for the forum would be best. Example: (MPC Software - Live/X and controllers), or (MPC Software - Hybrids and Controllers)
