Same, I can't justify getting an X to replace my Studio and the Live is a definite no go for me as not a fan of the touch. 2.0 is an almost guaranteed purchase unless I end up going full Maschine as I've just got a Jam and have to say initial impressions are really good. In combination with the Studio/MPC software it covers all the bases I think I need. Gonna have to see how the combination works in practice though.

Have u tried Touch or do u just dislike from what u have seen of it in use?

I think some people cling to the old 80's display of the ren and studio out of habbit and familiarity.

Not that you asked me, but..

Personally, I found that working w/ the Touch was a really nice experience. The pads are incredible. And as per Masada, the slight screen lag seems to have been eliminated on the Live, no doubt due to onboard processing vs. screen mirroring.

The studio is the first MPC I've used tbh. The studio has great pads for drums and most functions easy to hand with little menu diving, the Jam has the touch strips and 8x8 grid as I cant play keys it makes programming alot easer for me. I do a fair bit of work onscreen with the mouse as well so between them I've got all my bases covered now.

I'm clinging to the Renaissance because it saves me £1.5k, and because I actually really like it....

I'd like an X, but I have no intention of ever getting involved with a Touch or a Live....

No, I did not use a coupon. I had a quote for 1700 from Guitar Center which I forwarded to the PSSL rep to see if they could offer a better price.

Yeah, your homie from GC hooked it up for you, gave you a fake quote and you went shopping for a deal with it. I aint mad at you but tell your boy to hook me up too :smoker:

The quote from GC was very real. I actually had it on pre-order on my credit card for a few days before deciding to cancel the order when I noticed they kept pushing out the availability date.

I asked the PSSL rep if he could hook you up with
the same discount but he said he would need a quote under your name in order to give you a price match like I got.

Start making some calls. Who knows you may end up with a price lower than mine.

its all good chime in for the open discussion; I do like the pads, but I also like the pads on the studio black, I think the black pads are better then the silver studio.

I dont think the screen lag was that bad at all it was only really noticeable on the live fx screen and the on the sample edit dragging long samples, but that was on the videos, when I used it instore it was fine on the sample and very good on the live fx screen.

but standalone is something special

I quit on AKAI for the moment.. I'll probably cancel pre-order for the X. I am very very unhappy with their lack of give a **** for us. Story time... went to a beat session event and bought my Touch.. other dudes had the MPCs but most had keyboard controllers of some sort running Ableton or Reason. I was like ok let me check this shit out.. I was impressed with both softwares but wasn't feeling the keyboard as the sole controller.. seen one dude in the corner with a Push 2.. now I seen the videos and all but as a MPC head wasn't attracted to the small ass pads.. but he was like yo jump on it.. and I played with the Push 2 for like 30 mins.. and I feel in love.. the shit is dope as ****!!! We already know that abletons live is dope as **** but with that Push 2 it's crazy.. so yes for now I got that Push 2 running it with live 9.5 and I am cool.. only reason why I haven't cancelled my pre order is hope.. I hope AKAI is taking this time to get shit right.. if not then sadly I will quit MPC... now back to making bangers on this Push 2 :smoker:

I can confirm coupon discount works, I paid £1291.50 with the coupon code about 2 hours ago.
I was just about to post it up on here to let you all know about the discount.

GAK have just priced matched me too for it :hmmm:
