Let me ask you doesn't time stretch work in standalone? I thought it did being the X And Live run real powerful.

Masada' beta testing video shows time-stretching on the Live, in standalone mode, working just fine.

I don't own a Ren but I haven't heard tact switch failures that often. Though they do exist, but not how the 1000 and 2500 were constantly breaking.

I see what you're saying.

At this moment Akai knows both machines has to be sturdy and built well. They can't ask for that type of money and have filmsy knobs etc.
So if people want the best they will have to pay for it.

Exactly, these are flagships, they better be sturdy :)

If you can get your hands on a Touch, you can answer your question on the build of the Live and X with that. Maybe not totally for the X, but an idea.

Yeah it better be. Or lma buy 2 bats Louie Vills lol one fir me and one for you and you and l are going to Akai and break some hands and legs lol.
You hitem high and l will hitem low lmao

I was just talking to my two female singers one said she wull get the Live she wants to learn hiw to program drums. She is also a trained pianist and this would be a great start.

That X would be really great for me cause instead of using the 8 knobs l have now on the lpd8 l can use 16 knobs in my Eastwwest instruments SSL 4000 OXFORD ENGLAND board and use the knobs flawlessly. Thats going to be a dope addtion to my set up. See lm getting that X for a reason.
I won't be getting the Live for traveling l will use my LPD8. Its lite weight and sturdy and l am using now and killing it so l can use that on the road.

Every video from NAMM where Andy showed the Live/X was in standalone mode! There were no computers anywhere. You've known the answer to this since you saw any videos.

Besides the inputs, SD and USB drives, I would like to know if I can sample off the USB cable?

That was one thing I loved about the SP-606 was being able to sample audio from the USB. I would sample music anywhere on the net, even introductory tunes for blogs. Also the SP606 is capable of being a controller and standalone at the sametime, something Akai should look into. If I messed with the software, I don't wanna jump from controller to standalone and standalone to back to controller to pass files from 2.0 to the hardware when I can sample off 2.0 and assign to a pad or track.

I like the touch build quality; the only thing they could improve was the feel of the data wheel; as the rotation on the ren and mpc studio black feels better, whereas on the touch it feel very hollow.

It would be good if they improve this on the live; but I think I prefer the recessed screen of the MPC touch as it seems to contribute to the appearance of a thinner bezel.

Dunno why they need to have the black border on the live; but its not a big issue; I also like the red/black color contrast on the rear of the touch (pause)

Never heard of that and Akai never mentioned that. You can pass samples through usb but sample off it like that of the RCA connections, nah l don't think so.

They might have improved everything on the Live. The MPC Black was improved. The pads feel dope the jog wheel feel better than the previous Studios.

From where l sit and watching dudes like Masada Trent say the X is tight lm happy.

yup I noticed the pads felt more plush on the studio black and obviously the data wheel is improved.

Good lord is this trash. This is arguably worse than the Metro Boomin Touch video lol. Like... he chopped a repeating loop at the spot it repeats for a full minute lmao. You only needed one pad for that, bro.

Give me a free Live, and I can actually make use of it instead of letting these FL producers who have never touched an MPC make demo videos. Or how about you enlist some producers who actually know how they work, Akai? Smart move turning off the comments lol.
