Hoping part of the delay reason is they're adding some kind of Scenes function. Like Octatrack or RYTM. Looks like NI have put it in their software now (around 12 mins in vid.). These MPCs would be way more complete/modern with that feature and parameter locks.

Prob not a dealbreaker for me for now but if NI or Ableton bring a standalone next year it would maybe be enough reason for me to switch over..

Also, option for audition samples/loops at project bpm. Surprised this isn't there on the mpc considering all the marketing focused on timestrech..

Just a thought, everybody has gone crazy with no hands on, not hating or anything on peoples excitement

Yeh I am quite surprised how all the trepidation towards Akai products seems to have been binned so quickly in favour of selling off gear and counting up the sheets.....

Especially when we aren't really any closer to 2.0 now than we were this time last year.....

Yeah that's funny. I've just bought a Maschine jam but I aint selling my mpc studio for a while yet if at all. Selling your old device before the new one is even out yet is a sure fire way to not make any music for a while. What happens if the release is pushed back a couple more months? You guys will be cursing akai.

I don't think it's clever of Akai to speculate shop dates when the software isn't done.
Potentially, we *could* have another release fiasco cooking – like after NAMM 16 – if the software starts to take months and months.
People will get aggro around May if it still ain't looking ready…

I was thinking of something similar.
Easy to get the hype too early...and then get roasted by impatient customers willing to buy the device.
Would be amazing if the announcement was made when they're ready to ship....like with Push 2. I bet they sold a ton of it as the hype was strong and people were able to buy immediately. I'm sure that gains you a few impulse purchases.

If it's going to take them till October (or NAMM 18, haha), I dunno man. Hope they can act quick.

And if standalone is now on the Ableton/NI road map, I'd guess it would be, then akai would do well to get these out in market before Ableton/NI have a chance to get prototypes together with possibly many features of the Live/X +?

the hype wont die down till u get it; just like u still hyped up peeps r fiending.

people wont be satisfied till the craving is satiated; like last year it took ages for the Korg minilogue to go into circulation and there as lil almost like a black market where people who pre-ordered sold the shit at a higher price online cos the items were in limited supply early last year.

so if the stock is low for the first half of this year then the items become more exclusive; yes it will piss many off, but thats how it is.

It would be nice if akai could have had these shits on the shelf ready like push 2 but akai aint as slick as abelton sadly.

in the meantime gotta appreciate my last few weeks/months with the studio black, its a good unit.

I am getting a bit of a rushed vibe about Akai's doings right now...almost as if they wanted to get to the standalone market first...hence the announcements too early.
