Here in Norway. You can return the item if you dont like it after a few weeks. So if dont like it i return it. No questiones asked. So i so no problems her for me.

Preordering is just putting your name on a list to claim first dibs. Some places want money up front but where I go, I'm not charged until items are in stock and like waq I got 30 days to return for full money back.

I preorder all the time, especially for Xplus figures from Japan, if you don't preorder, you get left with the after market prices, not saying that for this situation but you will go on missions going store to store looking for these MPCs.

Right. I've been screwed by NOT preordering, because my shop had ordered 2-3 units, above & beyond their pre-order list, and were sold out by the time I got to the store.

I said "When are you expecting more?", and they said "Oh, 3-4 weeks".

So you're better off pre-ordering, and simply returning it if it's not all you'd hoped.

Indoobly! Also my seller says the first batch of MPCs are very limited. If Akai decides to go on market tomorrow, only the guys that preordered on day one will get theirs while the rest would have to wait weeks or months for new units to be 1)manufactured and 2)shipped on a freight ship that will take 2 weeks to come from China.

But if Akai keeps up the delay, they could be trying to meet demand.

Preordering may make sense if the amount of units is limited or if demand exceeds supply.
E.g., what happened with Korg Minilogue is Korg were supplying stock very slowly and could not meet demand as that synth was a hot seller.
Some peeps waited for months and months when they started rolling out.

They were saying it's a 2.0 thing... which'll bone both units.

Who's saying?

Akai. It's pretty well determined that the hardware isn't holding things up. They've said, point blank, that they're still tweaking the software. On Twitter, FB and at NAMM.

I meant who's saying on Youtube that it's pushing the units back until August?

Can anyone second this?

Highly doubt that piece of information. We are currently expecting the Live to arrive in Australia in May, the X in June. These dates are not concrete. They usually aren't until the month of shipping.

Bear in mind that factories have only just returned from Chinese New Year, so the dates may move forward or backwards once the they have had some time to settle back into 'work mode'.
