MPC live: Can the USB ports act as digital in/out?

I use all hardware equipment with digital in/outs. I thought it was odd that the new MPC live doesn't have digital in/outs, but then I thought it was probably because of the usb ports. I could see where that would work digitally with computers and DAWS, but is there any way you could hook up hardware digitally through the usb ports?

I can kinda answer your question. Because I already asked Akai if you can sample off the USB and they can't answer at this time. But if they're interfaces like the Ren, I think it can be possible to stream through the USB.
