Um the standalones both run on 2.0. It's not merely "downloadable". If they send out hardware before 2.0 is stable and bug-free, they run the risk of warranty issues on the hardware. If 2.0 crashes on PC, just reboot. If 2.0 crashes or corrupts on the hardware, it could brick the device.

Cmon. You honestly believe it is the exact same software that is running on completely different architecture. Do you still believe that the Vintage modes are hardware based as well after we got sold that lie? It has the same features and GUI but it is different underneath. There is a lot more to software than what you see on screen.

EDIT: If it works on the standalone devices enough to demo at NAMM why didn't they demo the computer software at the same time. The same goes for the beta testers who are only allowed to show and talk about standalone at the moment.

So I asked World Of Stereo on IG if it's running 2.0 already.

Think of it like this, the standalone units is Batman. And when you hook up the units to a computer, its Batman in the electro-suit hooked up to a lightpost ready to battle Superman. Regular Batman can't battle Superman but in the electro suit, yes.

Wouldn't it make sense to start with 1.9 version and build 2.0 off that? All companies start from the previous version to get to the next.

You don't know much about computers do you? Even the Mac and PC versions of the MPC software are different under the hood. The file formats are cross compatible but they are different and have individual bugs that that can affect one and not the other as well as both!

Hard to say. At least 2.0 looks way different and is also vectorized on computers, so at least it must've taken plenty of new code.
