I agree with you. Akai might have the stuff you're talking about. They gotta have copy and paste and to highlught midi events etc. Now markers I doubt but might come in updates.

Had that view in Beatmaker/nanostudio on my phone years ago, surely it's doable? If they genuinely did rewrite the entire code I think they would have included this. Doesn't really feel like it's finished unless they add it. At least not in terms of the way they keep saying that 'the standalone runs the exact same software as the controller mode'. It's a huge difference..
I think they're already approaching DAW song arrangement view. It just doesn't include Song Mode. Song Mode isn't as important anymore - you can't do anything meaningful with it after you structure it... want to bounce stems, convert to one sequence. Want to record an audio track that spans multiple sequences, convert to one sequence (I have no proof this works this way, but it's really the only logical way). Instead of finding ways to make Song Mode fit within the evolving software, I think they need to get rid of it and add a few key functions like:
* add sequence markers that can be jumped to quickly (shift + arrow - or something like that).
* a decent copy / paste of midi or audio events - right now it's cumbersome - not impossible, just cumbersome
* highlight multiple events on the touch screen and press a button to "repeat" the events at some specified time in the timeline.
I'm sure there's more. But if they added these, using one sequence would be just like DAW song arrangement view. And i'm one of the people that criticized Song Mode - but in reality, I'm really thinking it just needs to go, and focus on song arrangement features and functions within one sequence instead.
