Dam . lma look into that tomorrow if they give me that price hell lll wait till May to get it. Thanks on the alert. And they do match price too. I want them to beat it. I use to do that to Samash back in the analog days.

Thanks for the heads up bro.

summer2k wrote:If I were you I'd take that quote straight to PSSL and ask them to beat it (no pun intended, lol). Like I said before in an earlier post, I pre-ordered the X from them for $1619 (no tax and free shipping). I was shooting for 1500 but 1619 is a heck of a lot cheaper than 2199. The difference can go towards a 2TB SSD internal drive for the X.

1619.62 to be exact. I'm glad I was able to score one at that price. 2199 was a bit too rich for my bankroll.

I work for a company that also runs a DJ store. Currently the new MPCs are announced for the beginning of May according to our sales department. But my colleague said that this date is not written in stone, we receive updates regarding delivery on a nearly daily basis.

Akai have put the date back to the end of April, we are only getting 3 units from the first shipment and you are guaranteed yours from that.

Many Thanks

I can't wait!!!

3 units is a pathetic amount but I'm not familiar with the size and location of that store; hopefully some of stores in the london area will get more sizable quantities, but how is it Ableton were able to have units in all stores on release day but akai cannot get a handle on shipping and manufacture schedules?

This is a great question.
Answer: Ableton finished everything relating to it before saying one word about it. And when they did say a word about it, it was in stores.
No pre-hype, no NAMM announcements followed by a year of no product or such…they had videos done, product was done, software was working.…and only then they told us about it.
Result: huge sales.

exactly when I bring this point up people try and act like Im being unrealistic; but Akai are not a good company as far as how they handle press and marketing and timing.

Akai on that CP time (as Hillary would say)

I don't blame the retailers for playing hopscotch with dates when they don't have a concrete plan to go off. It's so silly in 2017 to not have hard release dates for items, especially something as well known as the Akai Mpc.

I loved the way Ableton and Native released there last couple of products. Dated and releases and kept it moving.

Akai have totally mis-managed the v2.0 and the mpc live and X delivery imo

This is probably to get preorders: make it look like it'll be out soon, and people will eagerly place preorders.

Well, the software lead for MPC says that the Live is on boats, and headed to STORES.

That's good enough for me. i predict Early / Mid March, US-wide, for the Live.

That's a good question. We're going to have to see really how all this is going down. Trust me they know they have a big demand and they are probably scared to death. But I hope everyone gets theirs whether its a Live or X.
You're right, they listened this time around and they don't wanna mess up with this. I love Akai's work, but other companies have messed up also, Avid, Ableton, Cubase and the list goes on. They messed up some where down the line. But I love Akai's MPC's and I am going to love this one I am sure, it is the only piece of hardware I will by in a long time, I have decided years ago to stay in the box.

And I can see why people may think the Live will sell more because:
1. It's portable
2. People are loving the battery, whether people realize or not.
3. The price is way lower than the X and it's as powerful as the X just don't have the extras.
