Thanks for the response. Intuitive is the word. Looks like l could be up and running in minutes. The editing tools look very easy. Basically some of the same tools you see in Logic, Reason 9, Cubase etc.

Has anyone heard the effects on these machines? The 2000XL optional effect were not to my liking.

Having used the Touch for a year, I can tell you that the workflow is supreme.

Dam did you use the word SUPREME? LOL
thanks bro. The only thing though l won't get into the 2.0 sftware. I just want the standalone.
If Akai improved the screen touch then a lot of people are going to love these machines.

See, thats another reason why I'm intrigued with these MPCs, all I hear is how easy it is get on one and make beats out the box. I didn't get that ease of use with the 500, it took me a month to learn and make a single beat.

My only gripe, no dedicated sampling button. That would've gave me all kinds of creative juices just looking at that single button

The standalone runs the 2.0 software onboard. Basically the MPC Touch experience, without a USB cord. Which, as I said, was delicious for me.

Hopefully, we'll be getting 2.0, the X and the Live before 2020.

A month to learn on the 500 wtf? Man l hopped right off the Boss DR5 drum machine onto the 2000 MPC and was making beats in minutes. Dr5 was terrible on quantizing. It taught me how to be on time though. 2001 i got the 2000XL and was happier than a mugg.

Yeah man everything is just sitting in front of you. Its so simplistic. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Akai did it right when they did that.

Oh nah lm talking about the 2.0 software that will be in the computer not the standalone 2.0.
So you're going to just going stick with the Touch?

I say "supreme" because there isn't another sample-based production system (that I'm aware of) to touch the ease, depth and flexibility of the MPC. It's really that simple, and it's my personal opinion.

I wasnt going against ya l was happpy you used the word supreme. Never heard it that wy before. Glad you said it.
