Clearly no retailer knows when they are getting stock, and that's probably because MPC 2.0 isn't ready yet so Akai are unable to give concrete shipping dates. Once 2.0 is ready I'm sure the units will begin shipping, but if they are still fixing bugs then there's no way they can know in advance when the software will be ready. Until then all these pre-order dates are complete B.S., made up to rope people into pre-ordering.

As for going for the import route, buyer beware as you could be up **** creek if there's any problems, be it warranty related or shipping issues (lost shipment, damages etc). Plus most countries do charge import fees & taxes, maybe not the US (although I hear Trump is apparently looking to change that). Also remember you'll probably get charged in EUR or GBP, so your card issuer is going to add up to 5% exchange fees on top of that. There's also the possibility that the US will get the first shipments, so by the time your unit ships from the EU, the US prices will have already dropped.

It's also pretty clear that most retailers in the US are very much open to offering price matches and discount coupons, so remember to weigh up any potential savings compared to the ball ache of forgoing warranty protections.

Yep, I think it's pretty obvious at this time that 2.0 might not even be close to being finished. Probably why we haven't seen a demo outside of stand alone. My guess is for a Fall or maybe even holiday release.

lmao LOL Did you get an answer from AkaiAu yet? I could of sworn Pete said that, now AkaiAu is saying some thing different. That's why there is so much confusion. All we can do is wait until those machines come. When I do get it, I think I am going to keep that machine for the long haul. I don't want to go through this again.

There are some people who are using the Ren or Studio or the Black. If you are doing drums and you have no problems where as making complex drums and they are not falling off the grid, what is your buffer set to? I want to try different schemes. What is your set up as far as buffer and other settings? I want to see if I can try getting it, cause I am tired of putting my drums on the grid, its a real head ache. I have a powerful computer so that's not the problem.

Now I see why dudes are going to Push, I tell ya this, if I could get that right with that buffer, I will get the MPC Black and call it a day!
Oh by the way I'll wait for the Live, but I ain't waiting till 2020 lol smh
Thanks

Ninguna! B&H were my last resort, they were interested but then some higher up said they don't price match outside of US. And thats the sob story I get with all US sellers.

This is what I ended up doing. I saw Guitar Center had a dang near brand new Studio Black used for $199 and I immediately bought it. I wish I could check to see if it has ever been registered, so I can get up on that 2.0 update for free, if it ever comes out. :?

Speaking on that, I wonder how Akai determines date of purchase as it relates to the 4 month window.

PSSL gave me a price match on a GC quote at 1619 for the X. I'm seriously thinking about canceling my pre order if can't get it soon and buy the Push 2 instead. I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos about it lately and I'm really feeling its workflow with Ableton Live. I already have the suite version of Live so I'm halfway there. Decisions decisions....

I don´t know Push, but anything is better than this Nukai ****!

:smoker:

I agree, Jack is a bastard.. but if this wasn't $199 and still packaged, I wouldn't have given it a second look. If I can find out if it hasn't been registered or not, I will probably sell it, along with my S3200XL, and put that money towards an MPC 4000 or another MV8800 (if I can ever find an MV8-OP1).

+1

Discovered Push 2 a week ago, I'm in love. This thing can do pretty much everything. Only reason I haven't ordered one yet is that I have no idea on how to use Ableton, never used a DAW tbh. I guess I'd need a couple of weeks for that, but having to learn both software and hardware might be a bit overwhelming.
