Akai had the momentum but now they gotta push hard to reach the top. I thought these will drop by this week but nobody got any shipments and it doesn't look like the ship will be coming in anytime soon. I'm gonna give it until April because that seems like the date everyone agrees on but if May come and still nothing, I will cancel my order too.

Elektron fell into this same fiasco too with the Digitakt. They projected April release but the OS is still being mocked up and its not even close to beta testing. They had all the Elektron guys thirsting like Mr. Howell now they don't want it anymore.

There's still a month left of Q1. :hmmm:

I don't know if some of the posters in this thread are on ****' rag week, but it's depressing reading all the moaning. I don't know whether to vacate the forum for a few months or buy a big batch of tampons for you all!

Great vid to keep us a bit busy again...only worrying is the answer people get concerning the release dates in the comments : Late March / early April for the MPC Live, late April / early May for the MPC X

I don't really care about the release date of the new MPC's. What concerns me though is in what state is the software/hardware going to be on day 1.

It looks like not many care about what they will be buying on day 1, judging by all the preorders. I personally am going to wait for some solid info on features/performance/stability/quality to make up my mind. It's AKAI we are talking about after all, it would be unwise to buy blindly.

I completely agree, gear lust and hype seems to be getting the better of people. It does surprise me, given the bug ridden 1.0 release, 'Vintage-Mode-gate', 'MPC3000-circuitry-gate' etc that people are being so quick to assume these products will be on point, with many of them already selling their existing MPCs in anticipation. I'm not saying that the X/Live won't be fantastic, but you might want to at least wait for a few weeks to see what the reviews are saying - not just the hardware, but 2.0 as well.

I get the general gear lust thing, these days we are programmed to want the latest shiny toy, but people are acting like life cannot go on unless they get these these new MPCs asap.

Perhaps you should ask the person who wrote it.

"Perhawps you sthoold athk da pewson who wote it!!"

Yes, that's me doing a mincing, b****y impersonation of your remark, because it was that.

Perhaps Akai should step to the plate, and be direct w/ consumers when they clamor.

2 people saying we fiending; new hardware aside people have been awaiting 2.0 pretty patiently since 2016 Jan.

Also consider the Touch users who brought in early last year under the impression that 2.0 was coming soon.

is it fair that they are forced to wait for the hardware before they can have access to the 2.0 software?

i hear there are certain parts of the software on the touch that just say coming soon, why should they be blocked from having 2.0 due to possible hardware manufacturing and distribution issues? or just plain mis-management of the delivery of these units.

Also my understanding is that these early adopters are on the clock because only units purchased in the lat 4 months are entitled to a free 2.0; so this begs the question (presuming 2.0 is release ready) are they delaying the release to make sure nobody is eligible for the free 2.0 offer?
