Shops paying Akai for a video to get preorders?

Yeah, probably.

Look at how Ableton and NI are promoting their hardware. Look at how professional and inspiring their videos are. Both their tutorials and artist videos. Now compare that to Akai's videos. Cheap, boring, lifeless.

I think Akai's marketing has always left a lot to be desired. I don't get why they don't reach out to people who can make some heat. Some of the recent standalone challenge videos were embarrassing.
Their videos pale in comparison to those of Ableton.
A bit of an inside fact, but if you have a really good idea for a Push 2 video, you can let the company know and they may come over and film it.
E.g., the Abayomi and Decap vids were dope. Heard they took quite a few takes, ha…but I can imagine.

Considering how many people still use MPCs, it's funny how few good videos we've seen of them.

It's been a while since we've made a forum mixtape. We should do our own standalone challenge and show Akai how it's done. :smoker:

Hey, not bad idea!! We should make a audio/visual mixtape, just compilations of different artists up for the standalone challenge, one track after the other. Maybe Star One can put it all together, she a beast with making music vids.

I can't find that Q1 / springtime on the Akai website. Would you please link to it?
