You clearly never heard the FX in the MV-8800...

:Sigh:

That comment of mine, either, was not a personal attack towards anyone or their gear.
What I'm saying is that in my opinion, the gear I've used (had MV, too) seldom offers exceptional effects that are better than what some software offers these days. I recall EMU effects being quite poor in particular, and even older Akai has better reverbs etc.
This does not mean in any way they could not be used if they serve you well and/or if you don't want to mix in software.

Peace and all that jazz.

Fanu is doing you all a favor by sh*tting on the MV. The prices on eBay over these OMG MV IS THE BEST threads have already tripled.

I owned it just for a short while a year ago or so when a friend wanted to trade my Ren (that i wasnt using as I had got the Touch) for the MV, so I said yeah, I'll try it out, and I did. It's dope.
Did sell it as I had too much gear anyways, but it sounds good and has a lot of features. Actually kind of miss it. Loved the filtering using the faders and all.
Honestly, if it was slightly smaller, I might buy it again.

Just noticed I got a bunch of Lives in carts of various merchants. I can't believe Full Compass is one of them. I was combing the net for the Live

Akai has the weirdest release strategy, : think I'm going to hold of on the Live and just use 2.0.

Trying to keep up with today's marketing stradegies, so they do outlandish shit to see if it works and what will happen. But Mike Acosta tried them out and he says they're incredible, so you know its gonna be solid. Its the the intergration between standalone and 2.0 that we not seeing.

Do you have one? Anyone here who has one and is using it with an MPC? How is it?

Been using it with a DAW as well as Octatrack, and it sure is heavy! Sounds very "organic".
Was having a sesh last night actually.

If you wanna hear it in action: https://fanu.bandcamp.com/track/minitaur-thing

Sounds really damn good.. I looked you up on spotify and listened to your album while driving around doing errands today. Are most of the basslines in your tracks the minitaur? I have been researching them online all afternoon, looks like a badass little synth and really what I am looking for :-D
