What is your opinion on the best synth for bass sounds?

Something affordable also....

I've tirelessly excersised the MPC's bassline options, and i can't really get the sound i want. That is to say, i can't alter the pitch mid-note, nor can i create kind of a "wobbling" bassline... (think fretless bass)

So sudenly, i'm in the market for a synth.

I wish i could find an Alesis Nanobass, but they quit making those.

Any ideas?

Korg MS2000, shakes the room.

maybe not the first choice for hiphop, but the 303 is THE bassline

I don't know, but don't buy the Nanobass. You can still find em on ebay, but its a piece of shit. I used to have one, and I sold it.

I have the Roland 8080 and the Korg MS2000, both are ill for bass. Unlimited tweeking.

Bass is about the easiest sound for any synth to make. Any synth with a minimum of a parameters can make bass. Nanobass hardly counts since it is a ROMpler and has no paramters.

What the fuc are you smoking? The nanobass goes hard. Everybody that I know who owns one wants two...Myself included. I say get a Nanobass..well worth the money!!

check out the Korg Micro Synth - phat, warm, deep bass sounds for only $350. Plus you can use it as a Midi controller and it has a bunch of filters that you can run your sounds through.

It has the same engine its big brother, the Korg MS2000

hey i dont know if you are using a computer at all or are even interested in soft synths, but i am freaking out over Trilogy. its by spectrasonics and it is f'ing ill! you use it as a vst plug-in, i use through this host app called VStack by steinberg. but dude, if you ever go the computer route with soft synths, GET THE TRILOGY. the samples in there are off the meter. acoustic bass sounds like a dude is playing it right there, got the finger noise and fret noise and everything. ridiculous. anybody else ever used it?
