You know, I really don't mind paying the $1200, I really was looking for free gear from them

A Euclidean style sequencer would be amazing, and work great with the touch screen. I stated earlier in the thread that 6 mos. wait from NAMM is no big deal and tradition but I've read up and educated myself on inmusic since then, so I guess I get the fuss. I wonder if I just want the sixty again?

Because you know they will. I suppose it's not that hard for a company to stick to a promised date…the secret to that is, unsurprisingly, finish the product and THEN do the marketing, and not the other way around.

Weren't these MPC's leaked by the FCC first?

Guys, I'm sorry some of you feel put-out by the lack of official communication, I really am. But there can't be any official statement of substance when beta testing is underway. Unless you want a half-baked beta test, you have to test until the hardware/software/firmware is ready for release - and sometimes addressing one issue creates another. It's like the old "how long is a piece of string?" question.

We all want the MPC's, and we all want them now - but we also all want them to be awesome, right?

Some forum members here are driving themselves crazy with all this talk of projected dates. My advice is to sit tight and wait for the official word. We're all working towards giving you the best MPC experience possible, ASAP :-D

Sad that beta testing is still finding bugs and having issues, I understand its a slow process but that just makes me realize that the date is probably going to be even later than 1-2 months away. Wasn't 2.0 meant to be released a year ago and they are still struggling. Doesnt inspire confidence tbh

I guess we all think that it just doesn't make sense to market it all – even being optimistic – while the software is being worked on and when even the units aren't made. IMHO you should be pretty damn close when you start taking preorders and can market it the way Akai have been doing.

I know all about last-minute bug-fixing; I work for an audio company, and our new product launch should've been on Valentine's Day. We've been addressing last issues for a month now. I'm glad we haven't been marketing our product the way Akai did until it's done.

It sounded pretty official to me when Pete said "MPC Lives are coming out of the factory, onto boats. Heading to the stores" on February 14th.

One can only hope that was true about Live, while I guess X got some sort of revamping.
Andy Mac's doing a demo thing in Helsinki late April, and the local retailer said Live should be in stores by then.

So why dont Akai simply officially say the 2.0 software is still being beta tested; or why dont they do a public beta?

That turned out to be just as true as a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. :Sigh:

Thats why I said that Pete annoys the cr*p out of me.. He should stop using cryptic language because he's about the only on on this planet that understands it.. I know that it's his timeline so he can drop whatever the f*ck he wants.. He should stop acting like a child..

He's not doing a very good job of representing Akai, with that type of opacity and misdirection. And judging from the holdup on 2.0, he's not very good at his primary function, either. But, if he claimed the Live units were on boats, it's safe to assume the standalone version of the Software (OS) is ready.

This taken from Akai's official FAQ page:
When is the release date?

The MPC X, MPC Live and MPC 2.0 software are expected to be available in Quarter 1 of 2017 (springtime).

As an employee of Akai Pro you might want to send out official word to have that page updated because we all know by now you guys won't be able to deliver before the end of the 1st quarter.

That all depends on how much juice you have at the company for your voice to be heard.
