Also, that dude said that we get 10 gigs of sounds and we can store our own on the remaining 6 gigs of the 16GB flash storage, doesn't he know that the OS takes about 4 gigs of that space? :Sigh:

And how is that relevant to the "Product Specialist's" ignorance? :Sigh:

I don't believe the Akai marketing hype of the MPC software being 'written from the ground up'. It's more likely that Akai is struggling to implement audio tracks and they are having trouble fixing all the bugs.

I agree, I don't believe for a second that they wrote 2.0 from the ground up, that would be ridiculous considering the ground work already put in over the past 5 years and that they 'appear' to only have a very small software development team.

The MPC 2.0 software SHOULD be ROCK SOLID & STABLE since it is taking Akai over a year and a half to release it!!

We can but hope. Pressure is well and truly on now, especially if half their customers are going to be paying extra for the upgrade, expectations will be high.

u think it look promising but there was not much in the article preview that would lead you to that conclusion; ur already sold in ur mind, but obviously there was no conclusion visible in that very short preview.

but it has to be said the X looks more and more awesome specially when sat next to the X (notice the size matched exactly what ThaKnoc said on gearslutz 2 years ago)

He said it was metal and slightly wider than the Ren and had duality mode where is could work as a Ren type controller or in standalone.

He mentioned the Touch and the two other products and this has all turned out to be true.

so the fact he was right about the above suggests he is also right about this mythical Roland sampler with ACB models.

and sods law it comes out right after everyone has spent all they cash on these new MPC's

it also has to be said visual the X lox pretty impressive; I feel they could of done more with Live in the visual layout dept instead of just replicating the Touch I feel they should of at least added the navigation control buttons.

It'd be suicide for Akai to ditch individual sequences in favour of an DAW-like linear arrange method, if that's what you mean?

Still crazy that the MV had both.... :worthy:
Man, if you didn't have to sell your soul to Beelzebub to get an OP1, I'll have one right now.

On another note, I'm just trying to see how all of this plays out. I still have my unregistered Studio Black sitting in the box seeing what Akai is going to do with 2.0.

Bain wrote:I don't know why akai feels the need to hold on to that workflow. I'm sure mpc users would adapt like they did to ableton push. I don't know any mpc users who rave about creating a song in song mode like its 1994, that's not what made the mpc great IMO.

We had this same discussion on the forum a few years back, and people overwhelmingly still valued using individual sequences to flesh out ideas and to create interesting transitions in tracks. Others produced in a single linear sequence and that was their preferred method. Having both covers everyone. :smoker:
