Being you opened the door and said Eyalc is wrong and demand is not the issue
then here's the million dollar question.

If demand isn't the issue then What's the hold up and what's preventing the new machines from being released? Q1 is gone! :smoker:
Thanks

Lets say Akai comes out saying they dropped the ball but is asking another company to join them in getting the machines out who would you like Akai to join forces with?

I personally would like them to join with Roland. Reason why is Roland has the MV8800 which was before its time. Take some of its features and add to the X not to the Live because its to small.
Give the X a CD drive and mastering in red book. Give a HDMI port instead of a VGA port. And add some of the other goodies.
Roland has experience in a standalone where other companies don't.

I just pictured an A-Team montage, with Roland cats running up in an Akai warehouse sawing bits of samplers and welding them to MPC's.......

Boy George is playing in the background....

MPC's will be on boats next week!

Thanks Roland....we owe you one......

I just hope that one of these days another company will step up and announce a new standalone or even a dope controller so we don't have to go through that **** with Akai.

Every day that passes without them releasing full specs/info/release date/manual I dislike them even more.

That might mean a little bit of missed revenue for the company…and maybe light a fire under their arse.

I don't understand how the pirating of software will light a fire under Akai's ass tho? 1.9.6 was fully cracked and no one seemed to notice.

Well, 2.0 is more special in a way than 1.9.6 was…that's been something the users have been waiting for a looong time, Akai flashed it to us at NAMM 16, promised to get it out in 2016…so some peeps have been thirsty for it for a while now, and no doubt there are dudes who would snag that immediately.
They're planning to release it as a paid upgrade (to some), so they'd miss a bit of revenue; 1.9.6 was not a paid upgrade.

One might think that if a large-scale leak happened, they'd hurry up a bit…I know many have been thinking the software may be done but they're holding on to it, waiting for the units to get done. Go figure.

I was thinking "f*** waiting for AKai l should make my own proto type standalone. The hell with being connected to the computer"!

Ima wait but lm not waiting till November 2017 to get the Live. I have a plan. Once l move on l don't f*** with that company. Ask Avid.

Well I'll tell you one thing, when this leak becomes public I will download it imedialtly and start testing stuff.
I don't care about keeping it a secret and that's mainly because of the way Akai is handeling things.

When I still had the Touch I expected 2.0 to drop in 2016. I don't believe that its's the software that is pushing back the release.. It's the hardware. :Sigh:

Allready ordered the 'X' so it's just a matter of time before I get 2.0. It comes down to whatever comes first, leak or official release.

Throughout the entire Akai product line history, have they ever actually completed a product with all bugs fixed, or is it consistent fix bugs until they get bored of supporting customers and move on to the next unfinished machine to make money from?

So far, I've read about the 500, 1000, 2500, 4000, 5000, Ren, Studio, Touch all buggy and unfinished to varying degrees per model. jjos does not count for Akai product completion on the 1000, and 2500. That was just a bit of good fortune for owners of those that the coder kept working on it after Akai dropped it.

How about the earlier models - 60, 3000, 2000, 2000xl?

Roger Linn needs to join forces with Roland. Imagine a Linndrum2 backed by Roland!! THAT would be the ultimate collaboration!! THAT would force Akai to be a reputable company and finally do right by their customers. Roland should also bring back Mike Acosta as their product specialist. :-D

forget roland until they drop that acb sampler they been hiding, I aint interested in nothing they have to offer.

that 808 day event was mostly wack shit, and the aria line is visually uninspiring and ultimately over-priced average shit,

the reason this thread is so long is because deep down we know for people that do sampling the new MPC's are the most interesting product soon to be avilable, everything else on the market does not grab our attention like the MPC's do.
