I agree with this but I dont get what u mean when u say u wont have to edit the patterns?
also regarding sounds its good to make a working subset of sounds so ur not overwhelmed when it comes to making beats.
In my opinion limits are best when they are self in posed rather than imposed due to bad design.
in this day an age there is no excuse for certain limits.

Most of the time I've used VSTi's to get work done and I was using the MPK mini to control them. But not having a MPC at the moment because I've sold them all and the fact that I have to finish my final thesis by next month (*Dutch: "afstuderen") made me start wanting to learn to play piano.
So in my little bit of free time I'm fooling around with the mpk mini and some piano vsti's. But to properly learn how to play the M{K mini doesn't have enough keys.
I'm looking at the Akai Advance 49. I expected this forum to have a section for Akai synthesizers but I couldn't find it. Maybe MPC-tutor should open a section dedicated to Akai synths.
