1: The first OS I heard any MPC released with was v0.63!

2: Im not sure what you mean exactly, but known bugs are, I supposed beeing worked on by Akai Pro. In every OS update they try to deal with these issues but as these updates shown, new OS updates can always bring new bugs aswell.

2. [extended] Every "update" to the MPC4ooo's OS is a "BIOS" upgrade, which means it completly wipes the current OS and writes the brand new on in it's place. As a result, no - if you flash to 1.45 (the most current) you will have all the "upgrades and features" present from the pior OS's :)

Also, you can "degrade" your OS by downgrading (hehee, silly word) to earlier OS's (like 1.1) - and you will then loose the "upgrades and features" offered by the newer ones.

This is how almost all hardware OS updates work.
