Hey there!

Got a question about the MPC Live that I couldn't figure out just yet: how many audio tracks can you simultaneously play in standalone mode if you want to use it for playing backing tracks during a gig? How long can those tracks be?

Thanks a lot!

8 audio tracks and 128 MIDI track. Each track can have different lengths and BPMs.

Going by past MPCs, the Live will have 1,920 minutes of sample time, enough to sample for days.

And the audio tracks are per sequence, yes? You cannot lay an audio track down over a song...?

Yup, per sequence, song mode is just knitting all those sequences together. No way to actually work in song mode as you would with sequences, only MV can do that

I would imagine you can, however, load a song into a new project AS an audio track, on one sequence.

And this what I was talking about during the Renaissance days, that song mode should've been the DAW aspect of MPC software. Should've been treated like a 32 track recorder instead of connect the dots it is. MPC can stay MPC, just make song mode a multitracker!

I always make one sequence anyway, I keeps it organic and fluidy like saliva on salt.
