Do we really need this new mpcs ?

I was already looking for a new sampler since October 2016. I needed something up to date. I was set on getting the Toraiz SP16, then the FCC leak made me rethink. Then it was official and the SP16 can't stack up against the MPC Live.

So here I am happy with my purchase and awaiting a Digitakt as well. After that, I'm buying nothing until 5 or 7 years later. Thats just how I roll.

Depends.

I needed a standalone solution. I cram in production whenever I can (lunch). You can get your hands on old MPCs just fine, but they are old, and frankly for someone such as myself - cumbersome. Heck, even the Live has a bit too much menu-diving, but its a lot easier to understand IMO. If you are in a studio environment for your work, a Live is a waste of money and not necessary, but a LOT of people really want a portable solution.

Yes.. the way it's integrated with the software / desktop , makes the workflow like no other.

Since I prefer to use audio to make my beats in ableton I bought an mpc 2500. Nice pads but very old school chopping workflow. With the new mpc live I still have nice pads but I get an up to date way of chopping.

Yes because that's what the customers have asked for. No for people who have a Touch and now like me who have a live and have to sell the Touch. But dope for newcomers because they have a lot of choices. Either way somebody is happy! Mostly Akai because the want is still there.

Today, I finally got to fulfill one of my oldest fantasies: making music with a capable standalone sampler in the sunshine on my balcony without any sort hassle with power cords. Just grab your headphones and the Live and go.
Let me tell you, my friends: it was worth it.

Next up: working on a beat in a classy pub.

Yes, for me, the live was needed. Portable, battery powered sampler/sequencer that does a lot whole lot more is a no brainer

I understand that people just make music on their laptops nowadays which is cool but not for me.

Yep, I work on a college campus and can go to a bench during lunch, plug the iPad in, plug the headphones in, and just go.

Like real spit, I wanted standalone because I didn't want to be tethered to a computer (I have a few other reasons not important here), I was NOT expecting a battery, and that has been THE biggest thing to me since I got it in hand. It creates possibilities.

one of my "desires" was/is to work on music betwixt shows when im in the "office". with the live i can now craft a beat from scratch up to completion, instead of humming my thoughts into a tape recorder or making a selfie video. I can actually sample something from an ipad pro, chop it up and create during my downtime.

And its not Do We, its Do you. Its what you wanna do, spend your money how you please and **** it if you hoarding machines and don't really need an MPC Live but ordered one anyway. Hey, you did what you wanted and just enjoying life, **** a social misfit status, they the slaves.

people r threatened by theses new units as it dethrones what were previously considered the the best unit.

for instance many said that the 4k was the best or the mv was the best but now new units come in to usurp those rankings
