It's labeled as a sampler but it's main function is drum programming imo.. Sampling is a bonus.

i use 20 seconds as an example; but say if digikat at 1 minute sample time u would be like this is a sill limitation to have, and that validates my point about certain limitations should have been superseded in this day and age

It really doesn't matter, at the end of the day its about how good the beat sounds. SP1200 only has 10 seconds and still being used today. Creative minds only get creative in tight situations. I get your point though, we should have 4GB of RAM and 12 hours of sample time by now. But I think companies make limitations like that to open new doors for new products. If product A lacked a feature then a future product B will have them. Like with the Touch for example, it came out last year but peeps wanted standalone, it lacked that feature. Now we got the Live.

I like limitations, it's one of the reasons I use hardware. If I wanted every single feature known to man I'd just work with a computer.

And thats the thing, you can spend hours upon days utilizing every feature in music production. Best to stick around a small neighborhood than get lost in a big city where people are cold and mug you if you looked at them funny.
