MPC Live MIDI clock drift

Anyone else having issues with output clock? I'm seeing a slight drift (1 or 2 bpm), which is a bit annoying. The internal timing would appear to be ok however. Another fix for a future update?

Do you hear it? When using different external gear, a timing is NEVER 100% the same on each device (therefore you would need a hell expensive external clock )
when syncing my DSI prophet, Analog Rytm and OT i also see some "adjsuting" of 1-2 bpm... isnt a problem, if everything sounds right ) (didnt tested my mpc live in a midi setup though... thats the next thing to do for me .-))

Yeah, can definitely hear it, that's what initially drew my attention to it. Running the arp on the DSI Pro2, and it is noticeably drifting. It's not the Pro2 because it is rock solid when running from the PC via Cubase. Yeah, and clocks are rather expensive

uh, ok... yes DSI is in general rock solid. I will try a test on my mpc with prophet 08 and Analog Rytm at the weekend. Lets see, if i also get timing issues... keep you updated.

ok... i did some 4 hour testing yesterday... the result is good and bad )

first: i had a rocksolid timing with temposyncing the analog rytm to MPC and playing tons of midi note and controller data of my prophet... i set the prophets clock to external and it also the sequencer was super stable and always in sync, even when i did heavy and fast tempo changes....

BUT: i wanted to record the prophet and layer the audio in audiotracks... as soon as did this, the machine crashed. i was able to repeat this failure 4 times... when i only use midi, internal programs and clips (including efx and q-links) everything is fine... as soon as i activate audiotracks (even just the monitor) everything gets crazy... midi sequencer reacted super delayed (almost 2 seconds latency when playing stuff into the sequencer), mostly internal erros when saving or shutting down.

as soon as i shutdown the unit (sometimes you have to do it twice, to get a "clear" shutdown) and restart.. everything is fine again.. maybe you also used audiotracks? so this could be a mpc issue... otherwise, it would come down to the old stupid questions, like: did you send midiclock and MMC-data to prophet? did you set prophets clock to MIDI/external and stuff like that )

Midi clock has always been problematic for the majority of devices. I bought e-rm multiclock. I send audio sample loop out of one output to multiclock and multiclock syncs to it and send midi clock or din sync to all hardware.
