I have to say that Full Compass video has me a bit worried about the X too. That face plate looks thin, plastic and warped by the function buttons. I have gone over other videos and I haven't seen anyone else use the buttons. I was kind of hoping the face plate would have been metal.

That Fullcompass video was probably filmed many months ago. If you notice on the back of the machine it has HDMI but no port for it. Dan Gill said on the gearslutz forum last month, they were originally thinking about using HDMI but chose not to. He said the MPC X's with those markings are prototypes. I think it will be solid. I bought the MPC Renaissance 5 years ago and mines is in mint condition. The only worry is will it be released this summer???? :WTF:

Thank you, that answers a ton of questions I was having. I thought the color of the sides looked a little different from other videos I've watched, makes sense it's a earlier prototype.

Ouch, that video isn't going to do Akai any favours. :WTF:

youtube commenter wrote:SMH.. We, as consumers, should not be beta testers for products, especially when we are expected to buy the device at full retail device.

If you release a product with beta software (as in missing, half finished features), you are going to get a lot of these types of videos. Who needs another Just Blaze rant when there's an army of viral youtubers slamming your product and making 're-boxing' videos. Hopefully Akai are listening.

The other day I took my son to the pool and thought to myself that having a MPC Live to work with while he is swimming would be great. I come home, see the above video & once again... WTF AKAI??!! :WTF:

On a side note, Im hearing GREAT things about Beat Maker 3! Maybe Beat Maker 3 with an iPad Pro and a decent pad controller is all I need? Hopefully, Akai gets it together before my patience runs out.

You see I say stuff like that too, and my wife responds by reminding me that apparently I'm supposed to be watching my kids swimming and not playing on my phone/ipad/mpc etc

The balance between home and work! Thats when I sold my business and became a stay-at-home Dad for a number of years ... wish I would have had the Live then!

if they cant keep people like that onside what chance have that got of converting the kufar?
