Poll. Who has received their preordered MPC Live

Hey Guys I'm in Canada and wondering anyone receive their preordered mpclive yet? It has been months since I preordered mine and am seeing videos up all over? Guitar center was selling them to people buying 2 at a time but AKAI have not fulfilled orders to people who paid in advance. Anyone else still waiting on a preordered live? I understand the X has not been shipped yet but live seems to be all over except in my hands. Very poor business practice for AKAI to leave paying customers hanging so long with no explanation other than talk to your retailer, whom is also wondering where their preorders are

I'll tell you the same thing I said on the Akai site, only a bit more blunt: it's bullshit that your retailer doesn't know where they're at. They're probably in arrears on their account and Akai just aren't going to give them any more credit. The guys on the sales floor may not know that, but you can be damn sure that someone in the home office knows all about it.

Unfortunately, been there, done that: had a partner embezzle the funds that made Gibson, Fender, Roland, and Pearl cut us off right before Christmas. IT SUCKED. And it put us out of business.

BTW - please don't think I'm being a jerk to you; I'm absolutely livid that you've been treated this way. You should have had your money refunded ages ago so you could have your Live already. I'm mortified and stunned that they treated a customer this way. I didn't feel I could say this on the Akai site, tho, without repercussions.

Thats what I'm saying, gone are the days of preorder exclusivity. I preordered way back in January for a Live and I waited and waited (like many others), then the youtube vids began showing up, members with big smiles posting their units and all I get is a backorder notice from my retailer. Stroke of luck was that Musicians Friend sent me 20%off that same very day I received the backorder notice, so for kicks, I tried the coupon on a Live preorder and SHAZAM! Got $959 for the Live and on top of that, they were in stock the very next day, so from a Monday order, I received the Live on a Friday. It was all good but I still felt bad of having a preorder and never arrived, yet anyone shopping on the street or online can just pick one up.

In my day, you preordered something, you were the first to own and rock it a week or sometimes a month before everyone else. Now you gotta be quick on the trigger.

I pre- ordered May 19th and got my live the following week 26th, got it at the original low price so I am pretty pleased

Ordered mine 19th May & got it on the 25th from Fairdeal....paid £799 & loving it!!

I didn't preorder, I stopped pre-ordering things ten years ago! I have my live for like 2 and a half weeks now. Im in the USA.

same fair deal; soon as tutor said that site had the old price i ordered immediately; fair deal get props from me for being transparent and not tryna be **** up with changing the price.

I didn't have a preorder for the live, but I received my unit may 2nd long before many of the preorder folks. I just noticed they were in stock at GC and bought it...

I had an x on preorder but canceled it as the live is more than enough for at the moment.

I love what I've been doing on the live but Akai really shit the bed with this one. Not fair that I was able to skip ahead of a lot of preorders, which still are unfilled. I benefited but if it wasn't me someone else would have copped it.

I'll no longer buy into any hype for thier products. Although zZounds told me recently they expected the x on June 12th... why preorder when you can just keep a good eye on units available?

When I spoke with the zZounds people they said they knew all along what the dates would be and the earlier dates were because of rumors... I happen to disagree with t modern marketing of music stuff. I'd rather not know about anything until I can buy it. I understand that preorder and that give you data you can analyse and that but what happened to honest business practices?

Pre ordered mine in February and had it 2 weeks, UK here

So the half baked dates of February I saw zzounds for the x when I preordered on Jan 17th were rumors??? The product specialist Andy Mac was going off of rumors? Yea just love it when companies blow smoke up your ass..

Once again my sales rep said they knew the dates before the supposed "leak" and everything.... All BS marketing, all create hype to only then shoot themselves in the foot, at least rep wise. Imagine the hype they would have caused if they just dropped it with no prior knowledge for anyone... I know they are selling like hot cakes now but They would have a backorder log until next year instead of the slow burn out they created.

Once again the live blows my mind everytime I use it but Akai in general hurt themselves more than helped with this botched release. Is the Live even technically released ?

I mean we are paying beta testers but when was the bigg release? When the guy showed up on youtube with no preorder buying two boxes? Fantastic release....

Yeah, saw the same post myself. Wanted to order from Gear4Music as it's my local, but they jacked the price up too....

I don't think they deserve any particular praise, they were just a bit slow to raise the price, they raised it up to £969 the next day.

I'm in Canada and ordered from Long & McQuade. I just spoke to inMusic, and their ETA on the Live is "Summer 2017". The guy didn't have a specific date... So that sucks
