So I've heard of people not being able to load 2gb of samples in the memory and only like 600mb or so. I was wondering if someone who owned a Live could try to load up as much sample time as possible till they get a "not enough memory" message and let me know how much they got.

I personally don't need that much sample time but i was just pretty curious. Thanks.

I thought right at launch a user loaded 2gb into the ram, and the system was running super slow and crashed.

Think of your own personal computer. If you have limited RAM and you are running memory intensive/memory consuming apps, expect slow downs of your memory is used up.

The 2gb's seems to be a hard limit so no way to increase ram. One has to manage memory on this machine.

Most i had was a bit over 1.3 gb's of data, some automation and several sequences and many tracks. I didnt notice any sluggish response, but i can surely see the machine slowing down if you max the ram. The machine will even alert you when memory becomes an issue.

Knowing its limited RAM, this is not a surprise that it will have issues with near full memory.

Luckily music data doesn't eat up much memory so most users should not hit this theoretic limit.

Yeah I wouldn't think many would hit this limit but I've heard of people loading just little more than 600mb and then having a memory issue. Thats all. Im just making breaks and beats then exporting to Ableton so I'm not too worried but i was pretty curious.

Apparently I have this issue...
Loaded as much clip programme as possible, got the memory warning.
Memory indicator is at around 95% full.
Saved as project and [ProjectData] folder is 616,7mb.

When I open the project in standalone I get a message ‘Low Memory! Save project now or you may lose unsaved progress’ however I am able to load some more samples until I get a different error at all programs I try to load.
'An error accused during loading. /media/az01-internal-sd/Expansions/Clips/Clips-etcetera.xpm'

Saved the project again and [ProjectData] folder is 746,9 mb

Re-open the project in standalone and now I can not load more samples, (error) message ‘Not enough memory to load sample.’

Good thing I already have a support ticket to fix my unit because if a flickering screen issue. :Sigh:
Going to ask for a replacement unit.

Then you're out of lack the flickering issue at boot is an expected behavior..Nick from AKAI told me the screen initializes itself that way..Ah and people here confirmed the 700mb limit

I don't experience the issue during booting. :Sigh:
It's random when I use the unit.
Switching to controller mode and back fixes it but at random it will return.

Also Akai responded with a returnbox to get the screen fixed.
