S1V3.5 is dope as f***!
I have it myself and with what Presonus did by adding 60 new things including the LA-2A, 1176 etc man you're winning all day even with the MV8800.

I used the Live to drum in some drums and the felling in S1V3.5 was really nice. S1v3 handles midi implementation way better than PT period.

Being patient aint a bad thing.

We also warned you that these things would most likely be running half finished software, and so far that's exactly what's happened with the Live. It's all very predictable.

   Well said! This sums up why I'm waiting on purchasing the Live. I'll just use my 'old STABLE & RELIABLE aircraft carrier' with Studio One for now. :-D

I ended up with a Push 2 since I had recently switched to Ableton anyway, grabbed an Apogee element 24 for portable recording. Together they ran me about 1100. Also copped a Moog Minitaur. All that stuff was still cheaper than going with an X. If I ever do grab a new MPC, can't see it being the X. I'm not paying 700+ extra for scribble strips and a bigger screen.

Yo Will l feel you on that. That's why l didn't get the X. To me it made no sense to spend that type of money when a lot of those functions l don't need. Still love the machine though.

If you're happy with the Push that's cool.

:worthy:

This has been my thought all along. Predictable.

Waiting on the reviews after several updates to the X which is some considerable time away still. No worries. Got equipment that works now. If I have GAS so bad I can't wait on something, it will be a small purchase of something that is right already. Whether thats an older used piece or something new from another company with a much better track record on a product that shouldn't need much updating.

I certainly am not looking for something with features of the new mpc's if I'm GAS'ing bad. I looked at new MPC's just for what they promised and another company is not going to come close to that, so the wait is on. I'll keep reading the Live progress and continuing saga that is the X release....

Love the Push. Still tempted by standalone though. I'll probably buy the Live once they get timestretch into drum programs.

It 's misleading indeed.. Up until a few days ago I was mad as fu@#$ck but than I said to my self: Calm down bro Akai nor the MPC X is worth it. In the end the MPC X is just a tool. A tool that will inspire me to do what I'm doing in a better yet cooler way.. It's best to remain calm and wait for the machine to arrive..

I remember myself saying that nobody actually needs an MPC. The MPC only offers us a different approach to our goals..
That still stands.. Right now I don't have a MPC because I sold both the 'Touch' and the '2500'. Not sure if I feel bad about it
but I can still make music.

It's just that I wanted to build and finish a few tracks that I have in mind on the 'X' (which isn't really necessary). I'll see
what I'll do in the meantime and I think you should do the same.

Those people at Akai are fu@#cking losers and the world knows that already..

Matter of fact I think they know it too..

If the push 2 had an audio interface, and they gave you the full ver. of the software, I'd have considered it. I think it's obnoxious to offer a controller, and merely the gelded intro version of the software for the asking price.

Thanks for all the input guys, you're all right! It's just that I wanted to put a big massive all joined together voice out so Akai would keep us informed etc. I was planning to test the 'X' during the summer holiday period since I need a good sampling device and my Korg Kronos isn't really build to do that in a fast and enjoyable way and it's anoying that they keep you in the dark.
If they'd told everybody that the X is coming out next year then we would know! There are a lot of guys who bought the Touch with the idea that 2.0 would fix all the faults and features they were promised and they are waiting for over two years now.
And that's the frustrating thing. I really love the way the new MPC's will work but I hate the communication around it and I hope they once will realise, they lose so many customers by doing that.
But lets move on or in my case that means wait ......

wait till you get your new mpc, than you will really get frustrated! you said it yourself, there are people who are waiting over two years to get problems on the touch fixed. i'm waiting since the release of mpc studio for things getting fixed ... the mpc workflow is legendary and i won't like to produce with out, but the new owners of akai makes it very difficult not to hate it with there toyish buggy releases.
it's time that producers and mpc veterans like, dj premier, pete rock or whoever come together, buy akai and make it a brand for professional gear again, before akai kills itself with there toyish products.

the mpc live is goo they took shit into the millennium; but the idea about premo taking over akai would be awesome, also I hope mr JJOS pops back up and does an overhaul of the interface.
