Pre ordered MPC X? Lets join together and sue Akai!

We've asked Akai many times, "when is the official release date?" Their reply (no joke!) was "ask your retailer, they should have accurate dates."

Most PROFESSIONAL companies I know usually would answer "We ship out to retailers next month on the 9th, so be on the look out around then" and thats it, we happy but it seems InMusic is interested in frustrating customers, like its a joke.

I doubt I buy another akai product, I hate the way this release was handled. "It's the same software in the live as in the pc......"

Meanwhile we can't even update the hardware with 2.02

I hear everyones complaint but to be honest, it's best that they take some time because imho this unit (MPC LIVE) is far from a finished product. If Native drops a standalone Maschine they'll defo loose the battle. Nice to crawl up ableton's ass (clipmode) but for a machine that holds the title 'Live', all that menu scrolling and limited fx usage, fiddly controller assignment mapping seriously slows any turned up performance to shite... I'm a long time AKAI user ever since the S900/1000/1100/5000/6000 days. But this did not take me into the future. I'd even go as far as to say that it's back to the oldschool.

If NI can add quantized clip launching then I would definitely be interested. Their new clip launching feature is quite limited.

That's not true at all. I work for a company that reps a major manufacturer (biggest in its market) in the commercial construction industry. We personally move 10's of millions of dollars worth of material every year. The Mfr. would NEVER deign to start taking questions about lead-times etc. from an end-user. They'd tell you the same thing; "Refer your question to our authorized sales reps."

Who cares, hype's over.

Bring on the new standalones!

I know companies like that, but Akai was the one throwing dates around, saying its on boats. Since Akai is just a facade for InMusic, I doubt it'll ever be a small humble company Like Teenage Engineering. None of the reps come here and solve issues, they just act like they too busy but meanwhile we saw Dan at gearslutz, Pete tweeting miscellaneous crap. MPC-forums is where users of MPC post, why not interact with potential customers? That there speaks volumes.
