Hi all!

I'm still eagerly waiting for my X to arrive, but I was wondering whether it is possible to extend the X/Live drumpad by hooking up something like the launchpad for samplescaling. Or for extending the amount of launchable sounds?

I'm just curious if that could work and if you guys would recommend such a setup and why/why not.

Many thanks in advance!

This gives you 16 x 8 = 128 launchable sounds per program.

Yes, I am aware of that, but with a bigger pad you could be able to have 4 banks on one larger pad. So this way you could trigger 4x more samples without switching banks or have 4 times more chops when having something sampled.

I like playing out two device routines with multiple pads, so there was an interest in adding another pad device.
The good, it does work, I plugged in my MPD218 as I was just trying it out....didn't try my launchpad or anything else. that bad though? It doesn't work as you may hope, it plays the device like a keyboard, so samples don't land where you necessarily want them too, while it isn't impossible to set it up, it would be a pain in the ass to do so, and hard to say its worth the effort.
