can't launch controller mode

hi there,
trying to hook up my mpc live to a computer for the first time (win10, mpc 2.0 installed and running, properly connected via usb). Still doesn't work, all i get is "looking for computer"... Is there a kind of hardware-driver that needs to be installed? Am i missing something?

Are you using the included blue USB cable? Many others have reported that it's faulty.

Hey l had the same problem but its fixed.

I bet you just down loaded the first box with just 20 sw.

Uninstall 2.0, then when you're about to install, there will be 4 boxes hit the "Live" box because you are using the Live. This will install 2.0 sw and MPC drivers. So after the 2.0 is installed hit that drcond box for the drvers and that's it.

I havw win 10 too

Glad l could help. Lots of people are loading the wrong setup . theres a vid by Akai showing to use the first one which is wrong for Live and X.

hmm I'll try again when I get home. I installed and selected "Live" and it could never connect. The computer saw the harddrive/SSD, but nothing more. I tried the included cable, I tried a USB 2.0 cable, and I tried a USB 3.0 cable all to no avail. What sucks is I'm really just doing it to see if I can update my firmware...ugh.

I thought I had issues to the few times but unless you have 2.0 open it will say lookin for computer, even though the sound card will be working and can read the cards or HD or whatever you have going on.

Make sure the software is up, try danoc's solution if that don't work.

Follow the instructions l gave to Fellum and do what cockdiesel said.

Before you try to connect to your computer you must always open the 2.0 Software first then ho for standalone mofe.

There's nothing wrong with that blue cable.

It was open, but I'll reinstall when I get home.

Don't forget when you install hit the second box that's for the Live.
There you will get 2.0 and the drivers for the Live.

One Easy Fixes here. 1 Your MPC must be in STANDALONE MODE TO PERFOM A RESET. Open an empty project and hit the Menu button, At the top of the Preference tab select the settings gear wheel. On the bottom right corner of the next screen you will see a reset button. Select reset: and confirm the step. Once the reset is complete re-open your MPC program on your computer and turn on controller mode on the MPC-X. This should fix the connection issue. Every time you do an update on the firmware repeat this process. Enjoy making music.

having his problem after updating to 2.7 on osx 10.14.6 did you ever find solution? I tried everything mentioned above and then some.

Me too. I can't go in controller mode after updated 2.7

I emailed technical support last night and waiting for response. I dont see mpc as midi interface only audio and internal ssd.

any updates here? I have tried everything
