Ive got 3 tracks that i put on 3 separate programs and tracks.

Ive created some drums and synth sounds on other tracks and programs.

i have a workflow question.

i thought i might send track 1 2 and 3 to the 3 different outputs and record onto the tascam 32sd but that then leaves me with a sync problem in the tascam as it has no midi trigger.

can i create the wav files separately on the mpc live, i guess after that i might be able to send them to the tascam.

I am a novice at this.

your workflow ideas would be welcome.

Couldn't you press record and then play your track, if there is space in front of the music couldn't you trim it off? Perhaps a threshold might help. Or am I missing something?

You can also bounce any track to a audio file and do whatever with it.

Its not Tascam's fault, they were bought out by Gibsons Guitar a year or two ago. Which explains a lot of omitted features from the older DP units. I was pissed when the removed the digital outs.

The MPC Live is very flexible.

Bro there's a feature on the Live called "Explode ".
Say if you had your kick, snare and hihat all done on track 1.
In that track section hit that pencil looking thing to the right. Hit Explode it will separate all three sounds to their separate tracks. Track one will be muted.
Now the extenal explode is easy. Save that session. Connect to your computer and open up the 2.0 software.

When you have that beat up go to the pull down menu and go to export. You will see explode again but this one separate the tracks going out. Pick the place where you want it to go. I.e. Desktop etc. Hit ok and it will do it. Thats it.

Thsts my work flow

I am definitely going to try these methods thank you all for pointing me in the right direction and as for Tascam it seems that all the digital recorders in their current form from all manufacturers lost this midi sync ability.

Yeah I have a dp24 and went to buy another one to midi it up for 48 tracks and was disappointed that it changed to a dp sd.

Yo Kay why are companies leaving out the midi all of a sudden?
