Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By sjsouthway Mon Jan 10, 2005 12:16 am
i just bought another used zip drive as a back up, it powers up fine but nothing happens when you hook it up to the mpc2000 (not xl). problem is i plugged my old zip back in after and now that doesn't load up either, it worked perfectly before. i get "SCSI not ready" messages. have i blown my SCSI fuse again? i did that once b4 and it took 5 weeks for some place in san jose cali to fix it? input sorely needed, thanks.... ???

You should only plug and unplug scsi devices with the MPC power OFF.
Turn on the SCSI device before you turn on the MPC.
Turn off the MPC first and SCSI devices last.

DO NOT UNPLUG/PLUG IN SCSI when its turned on. OR THE FUSE WILL **** UP.

i read that somewhere.

can anyone tell me what the scsi connection is like. like does it unplug easily? cos that would break the fuse or some shit.
im thinkin of gettin a hard drive or somethin for more storage

You should always have everything powered down before you plug anything up. The SCSI plug is easy to connect and disconnect. SCSI HD is good for me. I also got a SCSI CDrom.
