Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
ByScoobert12paws Wed Aug 06, 2003 6:33 pm
I have since tried loading pieces of an .ALL file, inparticular sequences 30-32 individually into sequence 1-3 in an attempt to be able to use them. However, I am still receiving error messages when I try to play them. After the error, the MPC jumps to a SEQ, RUN, STEP, MEMORY page. I'm still looking for a way to save my files. Please help!

Also, if I am sampling sounds and leaving them as sound1, sound2 etc, when I say replace same sounds, will I replace all sounds with the same name even if they are in a different program, but on the same disk?

HElp me,

Scurred,

Mikel

Still working on this? Did you even try the other methods I suggested? I would hope so. I'll have to stop coming around and offering help if no one is going to listen.

#2, yes if they are in the same directory.

Yeah, still working, I tried loading the files individually, then I tried deleting all other files and moving sequences 30-32 to 1-3, the error occurs with the file. Maybe I am still misunderstanding you, but the suggestions you've made seem prettty rudamentary, I am pretty sure that its something with the sequences, could it be that some of the sound files from the application are missing and that is causing it to error? Normally, I wouldn't care about an error such as this, but it is preventing me from getting to some of my more unique tracks that I am not sure how else to reach them. I am all ears and can dig through my mpc if you have ideas, but I am still just as flustered as the first time I saw the error message. Thanks for your patience, I assure you, it is greatly appreciated and kept in good confidence.

I had a problem last week with only half of my sequence playin. It would play two bars, then two bars of silence. But when i checked the step screen, all my notes were there and would play individually if I hit the PLAY button in step mode. I tried saving the sequence and reloading it and it didn't help. I had to re-compose the entire sequence and I still don't know why. MAybe you just have a corrupted file and it's ruined (I hope not, though)

Will the sequences play OK if you leave them at 30-32?

If so, load the ALL file, then save the sequences you want to keep seperately (in a diff't folder or on a diff't disc altogether), turn off you're MPC and then just load up those sequences into the 1-3 slots.

Hope this helps, Peace1
