What all sound files can the mpc software use?

I know I'm overlooking it somewhere. Kinda too tired to keep searching. What all file formats can I use in the software? Thank you.

And what would be the best sound quality with the smallest size?

I dont think there's a list anywhere. WAV, SND, mp3, REX, AIFF for sure. If you are looking to save storage remember everything you load into a project, regardless of format, gets converted to WAV upon saving.

Thanks for the reply. Actually the MPC software converting all to wav is cool because I've got a giant hard drive for projects. Specifically, I'm converting video rips to sound files for chopping, which is easy with DMC converter. I just was hoping for the smallest size at the best quality. My sample fodder hard drive is filling up fast, and videos are massive. I try to avoid YouTube rips but there are no digging spots in rural Kentucky. I do it sometimes. Also I have a ton of 70s flicks with must-chop ish. I was hoping for AAC because I read it sounded better than mp3 at a small size.

And yeah if I could convert a whole folder of videos to some efficient high quality format to peruse later that'd be great. Even if I had to convert them to wav files first then to something small yet good I could delete my YouTube rips and save mad space.

Just in case anybody else can use the info: Db Poweramp can convert videos to 640kb (I think KB? Not sure) freeform mp3s which the MPC can use no problem. Sounds way better than 320 but not nearly as huge as a wav.

Hoping for .mp4 to save conversion of videos. Pipe dream?

MPC 2.0 software supports many audio file types, including:

SND: The original MPC format, which all MPCs can still load. However, MPCs newer than the MPC1000 can't save in SND format.
WAV: The standard format for loading and saving on MPCs since the MPC4000. WAV files must be in PCM format, which is common. The MPC2000 can load individual WAV files, but not programs of WAV files. The MPC2000XL can save and load in both WAV and SND formats, but SND is the default.
MP3: Supported by MPC Software
AIFF: Supported by MPC Software
REX: Supported by MPC Software

MPC 2.0 is also compatible with projects, programs, and sequences from previous MPC versions, as well as legacy hardware MPCs like the MPC5000 and MPC2500.

I`ve been reading through the forum and I Wanted to ask:
I`m converting my sample packs, Loop[s, one shots, etc all in MP3 files to compress and save storage in my memory card to be used in projects in my MPC Live2 is it that a mistake?

Any samples imported to to the MPC will be saved as a larger WAV when saving a project regardless of format.
Obviously you will save space on the original medium used to save your samples, but be aware that a low quality MP3 converted to WAV will still sound low quality but take up a lot more space once in the MPC/MPC software.
It's personal preference how you like your samples to sound, but you'll hear more artifacts in imported mp3s, especially when pitched down. Sometimes in a good way!
