I have to agree. When I first dug into the Live, it was like a breath of fresh air and was a lot of fun exploring the machine. I never felt that way since my first sampler, the Roland MS-1, since 1996.

Those are the MPCstuff.com XL screens for the 1k and 2500. Only works with the new JJOSXL. I think they still sell them, gotta mod your MPC though.

The 2500 with JJ OS XL is a serious machine, honestly.
It literally has only *one* thing about it that made me sold mine: you can't preview sounds on the HD while your song is playing.
Did make some serious music on that machine, though…had one twice.
At some point I realized being able to browse for fitting samples while my beat was playing became very important for my sound, into which I love bringing in some random things that fit well but which you wouldn't have thought of if you didn't browse as you go.
Live lets me do that.

Ok l see now. Yeah when l dug into the Live l was stung by the aesthetics. But when l went inside l was lost. Definitely not the 2000XL lol but now l am navigating through this baby like a sweet breeze. My sinvger a l have fun man. I aint had this much fun since 2000XL in 2012.

Yeah, I get that feeling too, Ill. It's been a minute since I first dived into that 25K manual, & that excited look on my face when I realised what it could achieve!! Just a missed opportunity that JJ didn't design the OS, & MPCstuff didn't design the hardware!! If Akai were really serious about the LIve/X being what amounts to " Maschine killers" , then that would've been the way to go!! Just imagine how dope they would've been!!
But, I ain't mad at 'em, Not with that grin!!
