Backing Tracks / Click / Midi - Can my MPC Live do this?

Hi all!

I am currently trying to ditch the laptop live for my MPC LIVE.
Is it possible to have my band set on the MPC with these features all running from the MPC LIVE:

Backing Tracks Stems
Separate Click for only band
MIDI notes to run multiple synths live in real time

This could finally eliminate Laptop / Audio Interface / Midi Interface from my setup and make gigging SO much less stress.

As far as I know all three options are possible. It's exactly what we are going to use our MPC live for. It's going to replace the two MPC1000's we use at the moment.

Regarding click track, I don't think the standard metronome can be configured to play on a separate output but you could pre-record a separate sequencer track that contains your own custom click track - the click sample you use for that could be routed to a different output purely for your band to hear (e.g your sequences go out of outputs 1/2 while the click goes out of 3/4).

That's how we use the extra outputs as well, to provide a click track to the other musicians. You don't want the standard metronome as a clicktrack, that's not really inspiring. Just use beats from the song or regular drumsounds with the swing you want the others to play to.

So, for anyone looking to use the MPC Live like I was hoping (20-30 audio backing tracks / midi sent to synths / separate mix with click for band) there's some serious problems...

Firstly, I set up the midi / audio on the mac software in controller mode and everything was perfect. After trying to load it onto the device I was told by support to purchase an internal SSD so I can do this efficiently. I then forked out on a 500gb SSD to make sure I can have many sets on it with no issues.

After trying to load the first song on to the internal SSD I got 'insufficient memory' after about 5-6 WAV files trying to load. I thought there must be some mistake but after more research there isn't..

The MPC will only play samples directly from the RAM. Not only that, the '2gb of RAM for sampling' which it clearly says on the side of my MPC box seems fishy considering it freaks out after 5-6 WAV files (60mb) try to load.

I've batch converted all my songs to mp3 to try and resolve the problem but it seems to automatically convert them back to WAV and I can't for the life of me figure out a way to play 20-30 audio files (any quality) and send midi.

Extremely disappointed although I understand the unit wasn't designed for what I need. They should have allowed users to stream audio from internal SSD or internal memory and this wouldn't be an issue. I could see many bands ditching the whole laptop / midi interface / audio interface setup for a rugged 1 piece unit.

Hopefully I'm an idiot and somebody can help me achieve this.

I have the exact same problem!! Anyone have a workaround for this, or do I have to load a new ‘project’ for every single track?!

yeah.. not having disk streaming, is a ****.
i.e. mpc gets it's superpowers because everything is in ram.. but it's kryptonite it's hitting that ram limit.
Combining an MPC with, a Deluge or Blackbox1010 or ipad/iphone(AUM) that has disk-streaming, is a choice but they don't have that MPC workflow. (i highly recommend a Deluge, the sequencing is great live, and pairs well with an MPC)

On the click track, an MPCLive has multiple outs, so unless your using all four chans for audio, use one of thoses for your click. MPCOne has CV out. I know peeps who have used that for their metronome
