MPC Live won't enter controller mode (Win 10)

Hi,
Recently purchased the MPC Live. I'm trying to enter the Controller Mode, but cannot. I have Windows 10 Home.

I have installed the drivers for MPC Live (I believe I did this correctly, though I have a seemingly separate problem - cannot load MPC software on my PC - detailed elsewhere in this forum).

Anyway, I hit controller mode and it sits on "Looking for Computer" (a pink screen) and does not progress beyond that. My PC recognises a new USB hardware connection but it's just called "USB Composite Device," and I cannot access the unit. I have tried a different USB cable and ports.

Any ideas? Cheers!!

Restart everything, if you didn't already and see what happens, maybe even reload the screen driver.

Thanks. Sadly that didn't do anything. I've tried reinstalling the drivers and software - no luck.

On a different forum, someone just told me that I need to be running the MPC Software in order to connect the Live. Is this true?

Apart from wanting to have things work properly, I want to be able to load firmware updates and so on, so I do need to connect it eventually - I thought it would be like an MPC 1000, and just become like a drive. . . apparently not?

N.b. I cannot currently load up the MPC software - I've installed that software on my PC and the drivers, but it is reporting problems on loading. Otherwise I would just try it, of course.

Guaranteed you didn't put in the right drivers. I had the same problem and l have win 10 Pro.

You need to disconnect the blue cord and uninstall the 2.0 program completely from your computer.

Install it again this time 4 boxes will dhow in a window.
Pick the box that says "MPC Live" and not the one above it. Hence, it will load the software and drivers to the correct location on your PC.

Once that is done for testing purposes open the MPC Live short cut app on your desktop. If it opens you have done it correctly.

Now close it. Turn off your computer and reboot it back on. This gives your computer to dave changes it made durinh your installation.

When tje computer is back on open Live 2.0 software. Cut on your MPC Live hardware. Put in the blue cable and connect from the Live to the computer.
OPEN THE MPC LIVE 2.0 FIRST BEFORE GOING TO STANDALONE MODE! Once 2.0 is open then press the icon on the Live for standalone mode. And watch it connect and you should be go to go.

Yes you need to have the software running in order to be in control mode.

Get this right first before you worry about the firmware update. 2.0.3

Thanks! Yeah I have got it working now. I was using a previous installation of the iLok software, and I assumed I wouldn't need a new install. Once I re-installed iLok software from a download just now, the MPC software now boots up fine.

Lmao l knew you were doing something wrong and yep gotta have the ilok for that. Now you can get busy.

Hi guys! I just did what you said but still doesn't work. ( How can I manually install the Mpc Live drivers?

I am encountering the same problem. surely another consequence of the numark greed and incompetence?

Akai wont fix anything with their new products, everything is broken man, deal with it or wait years for a decent update. Lol
