WRONG! The interface they were speaking of was not a sound card they were talking about i.e. RME interface. Thats what the hell they were talking a.bout. Duh l already have a dam sound card so wtf are you talking about.?

Like this

You said you don't need an "interface" People on GS told you that your latency issues would be resolved with getting an "interface" which is also known as a soundcard.

What the f*ck is an interface to you then?

The problem was once l vmsaid l dont need and one keeps going that causes problems. I expressed my problem and said l had the solution. I didnt ask for help. It was to point out if someone else had the same problem they could look into an MPC. As time went on l found another solution as you seen in the video. So l showed how to do it without an intetface.

In my set up l never track out l stopped tracking out in 2012 when Reason came on the scene and l dutched Protools. Tracking out of Avids 003 interface was a pain. I bounce my stems and take them to the major studio and dump my stems . sp yeah lm very good couldn't be happier.

Cockdiesel wrote:Danoc you are right you don't need an interface to do what you did. I understand you may have had a hard time tracking out your drums, and adding your vst synths over top. You're good now, right? I get it, the issue bothered you Bc there was a stink as gs and you felt you needed to respond, and smack didn't like being mentioned by name.

I get ya. The point they we're trying to make is that your drums were off in reason because the latency of the soundcard or interface you were using. You were trying to tell them no the mpc live is the solution to your workflow and it got heated. Unwarranted I know, but for real this has been a really confusing mess.
They were trying to tell upgrade your soundcard and your were trying to tell them your straight is what I gather and Somehow there was a confusion about what you were saying and the resolution they offered.
I'm Finna sample Rodney king and chop that shit up, hopefully y'all can laugh this all off.
Can't we all just get along??? We're all trying to make music and have discussions about the equipment used.

They said to get a RME interface something like this. The issue was never about tracking only about my drums that are complex or piano playing dudnt line up on the grid correctly. Not about midi sync either.

Cockdiesel wrote:It gets even more confusing when the picture don't show up.
What did they tell you to buy danoc? And was it an issue with midi sync and tracking out your old mpc?
I'm entirely confused by all of this.

Let me guess you were using like 4+ tracks of vst synths, vst effects, and also drum samples treated however? That adds a lot to the load to your computer. A big load depending. On what you were using. the were right to offer that solution, but mitht not have understood what you were trying to do with the live. It's not like exploding tracks and stems and exporting them is a common feature for hardware so it's somewhat understandable.

And arnt the features on reason somewhat new?

I didn't have an intetface thats what they were trying to get me to buy. Some said it was latency some said its an quantizing problem then a few said its jitters. Can you unfetstand how frustrating it is to have a thread of people not on the same page trying to tell you to spend money on this and that when you ALREADY have the solution? I didnt ask for help l was merely expressing what l was going through and HOW I GOT A AN TO FIX IT!

I was about to buy anothet 2000XL then l was goibg to buy the Studio black then Pettycash told me to wait Akai is coming with a new machine and standalone. When he told me the specs that wss my solution.

Ill Green is the one who put dudes in check. He said "Danoc don't need and interface the MPC Live is an intface on its own". That wss the most profound words l seen. People just didn't get it. Some really believe you need an interface. My vid shows you don't and can keep your drums on the grid.

I get it bro, you were trying to tell them your solution and it got unhinged like this thread. However, you got kicked out because of it there, I see your logic,
They were trying to help but I know how people get. Like 5-6 years ago I'd do some live stuff with my 4000 and mfer would act all weird like my machine was shit compared to thier 200 dollar soundcard, ableton live lite and a controller for it...... when push came to shove thier bass was like a fart and compared to how hard that 4K was hitting. the whole ableton dj, NI crowd were really snobby back the and I will never look at those product the same again. Fine tools and starting to dapple with ableton some but they just wouldn't get it, and felt I just wouldn't get it, I just like pounding bass and making grooves, they wanted to tour the world coming up off thier friends couch or moms basement...

Oh no. Bro l don't open up more than two synths. Here's my flow.

Depending what's in my head l might start with drums first or the sound first.

If l use Omnisphere 2 you can stack 8 sounds its multi timbral to make one thick sound. Once l got it l bonce it to an audio track and close Omnisphere 2. If l want a sound from Nexus l would dtil have the midi notes from Omnisphere 2 and use those on the Nexus. Once l get that l bonce to audio track and get rid of the Nexus but keep the midi notes and switch a few around now l got 3 sound on top of my drums without opening all three at the same time. So l never have a CPU issue. I dont open many instances like others. I stopped that years ago.

No the features like exploding midi tracks exporting tracks etc Reason been had that. Thats when l daw the specs for the new MPCs l was blown away cause l would get my dope tight sequencer back and be able to do the function Reasons had without tracking out.

They knew the specs eveyone saw the specs on the new MPCs. So they knew plus l yold them.

LOL exactly
MPCs sequener was alwsys tighter than a PC and when these new ones came problem solved.

Like some dude said Reason isnt a DAW lm like wtf are you talking about? :WTF: Daid thst today when Reason has vst and get this VIDEO SUPPORT! Lmao l know how you can do video in Reason. So how isn't it not a digital audio workstation? See thst type of stuff gets on my nerves. He saud in his opinion. Well it will stay and opinion in his head the fact is Reason been when they introfuced Record.

4000 is dope but just to big for me.

I don't want to open the can of worms any further. There's a lot that goes in beyond my expertise. CPU power, effects, things running in the background etc. I will say 8 voice mutlitimbre might have a a pretty heavy load compared BUT I don't know this stuff, what you were doing or even wish to start the convo back up. Personally I just wanted to understand what was going on everyone was going ham.

It took how many pages and replies of this thread to understand the issue myself.... that's the point I was making about communication,. If we were face to face you could relay your message in under 5 min and I would've understood.

I'm going back to my dungeon and Fukien with Rodney king samples. I been a hawk on this forum for the update info, which magically appeared today, but who knows when it get implemented. It's weird how these threads unravel. Entertaining at times, worrisome at others...

How come this forum adds words and weird shit to your posts?

I got you. Im going to play with the MPC now l got the new tilt cooling fan and its sitting on it. Love the tilt feel way better than being flat.

Mann that's probably my typing on this smart phone lol l misspell words etc on this thing lol but type better using an actual keyboard

To further add and not stir up is wording, to make a blanket statement of not needing a interface when dealing with a computer is bad advise, now if one says in my particular set up I don't, and here's why....
1. I only use softsynth's
2 .I use a step editor to input drums
3. I bounce midi down instantly to keep CPU load down
I see the method to the madness but that is a particular situation....
What if you want to play in your drums/keys/etc and feel very low latency, you'll need a interface!
What if you have hardware synth's that you want to sequence and record, you'll need a interface!
What if you don't like bouncing down to audio all the time, you'll need a interface so you can adjust your samples to accommodate CPU load.....

Actually don't remember people trying to force Rme either, definitely wasn't me because I roll with Uad or Apogee, I do remember saying "get any interface" they range from 100$ - 4 to 5 grand...
So again I see the method to the madness but this is a very specific situation and one has to work under those limitations...

100% correct.

I started with a less than $100 interface and now use a mk2 Symphony, everything I've used and owned has been better than nothing at all.

How would I record vocalists/writers without an interface? How would I plug my 3 pairs of speakers into my setup without an interface (of course there are monitor controller solutions but then that would be connected to my interface).

Yup!

You don't need no interface. Just use windows sound recorder to do that. Or if you have a cell phone, use the mic on there for recording vocalists as "Apple, it just works"

I saved up and got this this for recording all my vocals.

You don't need no monitors. Just use these, it's better
