When I first got my mpcx. The mpcx would only display (Looking for Computer) connected to two pc's with windows 7 pro installed and one laptop with windows 8.1 installed, connected to usb3.0 ports. At the time I was so busy fooling with the machines running windows, I forgot to try my mac pro and my mac mini. So with the laptop running windows 8.1, I tried the usb2.0 port instead of the usb3.0 port and the mpcx went straight into the software with the mpc 2.0 software on display. So I installed windows 8.1 on one of my pc and connected the mpcx with usb2.0 port and again the mpcx displayed everything with no problems. So even though the mpcx has a usb3.0 connection. It works perfect being connected from usb3.0 to a usb2.0 port for me. Maybe you should try a usb2.0 port and see if the mpcx stay connected for you.
In all the years dealing with and building pc's since windows 95. I notice usb3.0 been unstable from the start and never was perfected, because the drivers is from 3rd party vendors with generic code. Inmusic is putting usb3.0 connection on all there new music gear from dj to production and they are going to have problem with all the brands under there belt. If they don't go back to usb2.0. I purchase a pair of the Denon SC5000 and the Denon X1800 mixer this summer. If you go to the denondj forum, you will read post of dj's having trouble with there decks, using the usb3.0 connections and usb3.0 flash drives. I don't have problem with my decks, because I only buy usb2.0 flashdrives and I use the usb2.0 port on the front of the decks.
