Personally I'll have to write it off as "Never going to happen".

No idea what PDC stands for.
On the other hand, the weekend was horrible, without the new update I was forced to actually make music rather than complaining about the new update...

Plugin delay compensation. Throwing sounds off time in software due to the use of many 3rd party plugins.

I made music, too, with Akai s3200XL and MPC60 II.

Personally I don't use 3rd party plugins inside MPC Software...I use a DAW for that
I understand though someone who wants to do all the mixing/mastering inside the MPC Software..

read over at gearslutz that they might be giving the mpc p.locks and probability features if they did that I would faint, die, and then come back to life ask that Geoff guy about that!!!!

Link? Want to see that this isn't just another rumor where a user wish becomes "Akai might do this and that"…

Yeah, making the use 3rd party plugins in the software so painful partially defeats the point of offering the software capability in my book.

This would be awesome, but I don't want to believe it.

Just now on facebook, so I believe it's close:

Akai Professional announces the release of the MPC firmware update 2.0.5. This update includes several new performance features for Live MPC and MPC X. In addition, the new firmware contains a complete newly designed real-time pitch-Shifting- and time-stretching algorithm for manipulating loops and hits on the respective pads, improved program and audio editing capabilities, Bluetooth 4.0 MIDI and enhanced support for memory expansion and external drives.

Another significant new feature in 2.0.5 is the Ableton Support link via WLAN. Thus MPC MPC Live and X are the first stand-alone devices that are compatible with Ableton link. MPC users can use this update immediately via WLAN their hardware in real time with other instruments and Apps Sync (including the IMPC Pro).

the features
Ableton link via WLAN - dubbed the standalone MPC Live or X with other Ableton Link - Apps and applications. For a complete list of supported apps here:https://www.ableton.com/de/link/apps
Bluetooth® 4.0 MIDI support - controller such as the Akai LPK25 Wireless and Wireless LPD8 now be used to play MPC instruments and kits wirelessly
Redesigned real-time pitch-shifting and time-stretching algorithm - samples to each pad within a drum program can be manipulated individually by Time Stretch or Pitch Shift in real time now
Improved audio and program execution
Enhanced support for memory expansion - hard drives can now be formatted with the MPC
" This firmware update raises the MPCs to a whole new level ," said Pete Good Life, Director of Software Development for Akai Professional. " The new features make the MPC to a real performance powerhouse and improved connectivity offers a world of new creative possibilities. "

The 2.0.5 update is now available on the website of AKAI Pro for all registered MPC Live and MPC X users for free disposal.

But can I press the LIST EDIT button on the X and will actually bring up a LIST EDIT window? If not, when can I expect that the MPC X will have this basic feature working? Haven't looked at the download to see the full feature list yet, so maybe that's in this update.

Still, a much welcome update.

Where exactly? At least not on Akai's page.

Info posting rule #1: let people know the actual source so they can verify it if they wish.
Without that, rumors always spread: "Oooh it was said on Facebook that they'll have PDC next week" and then it turns out it was some user's wishes.

Can we all calm down a bit? :Sigh:

That info:

It's not from Akai's page but I copied it from on of the guys who posted it on one of the unofficial MPC X/Live pages. (He said he got it from the web)

The reason I didn't link to his post is because I didn't want to direct the whole forum to this guys Facebook account. Don't want him to start complaing about that.

I would post a link to the source (Like I normaly do) but he didn't add the source to his post.

So it's best to see the info that I posted as unofficial news...
