Judging by his replies, I even doubt that he knows what PDC is

It's clear now that it's not something they're working on, no way.
I've asked them so many times. So bummed.
Best just to accept that you'll never be able to use UAD and Slate digital stuff with MPC…some of my favorite plugs that I use daily.
Also such a bummer that they keep ignoring something so rudimental.

"That was regarding wifi/bt. OK chaps, its been great chatting but must get back to it. Always love chatting but cant speculate about future."
-Simon of Akai on Twitter (when I started asking him about PDC)
If we've established one fact, it's that Akai guys will reply to you if you praise them, but will quickly shut up, give you smug crypticness, or leave the convo when you ask about stuff that's out of their comfort zone. And to me, that equals "That feature will not happen" more than anything.

Yeah, I do feel like a bit of a fool myself thinking that PDC might happen at this point and still asking about it and giving those guys attention. All they do is react and retweet your praise but poop their pants when you ask about something else.
They're probably too busy trying to catch up with some "cool stuff" they keep mentioning while ignoring some main basic-level functionality.
All this does is reinforce the notion that they're a bit hell-bent on implementing some things but not that interested on things that weren't on their roadmap initially.
I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I appreciate blunt honesty.
E.g., afaik, Elektron has said on their forum that they will not be working any further on Octatrack mk1 or implementing new features for it (e.g., probability on midi notes that are on Digitakt); like it or not, but at least you know it's not supported or worked on anymore, and that'll put a stop to requests. I like it when companies can say if they're not doing something. All sorts of smugness just rubs me the wrong way.
I've been thinking about buying the X. I do like the Live and the worfklow.
It's like, if they could convince me that PDC will happen sometime soonish, that might encourage me.
Should probably try and take the device for what it is and ignore the dudes' cryptic behavior and business policy.
Well, time to turn on my MPC 60 II and s3200XL and work on some sh*t…

I don't think Pete's post meant that there will never be any pdc at all, Imo it just means that the priority of the mpc is that of a sampling beat machine first, and a daw or daw-like second, and there are allot of things they want to get straight on the beatmachine side first. They've got beat machine features that need to get polished up, they've got legacy beatmachine features that need to be implemented, and they've got new beatmachine features that have never been in an mpc that they want to implement and since those kind of features will be new to the mpc paradigm they might need to be polished up not unlike the clip triggers. They know that everyone already has a daw, especially the people who want the mpc to have full daw capabilities, those people absolutely already have a daw. A sampling beatmachine's first priority will always be sample editing and sequencing features but I believe pdc will arrive, just not in the near future. Right now they have to focus on competing with elektron and others who've been upping the game on the sequencing front with very creative capabilities.

Sorry, no more updates for the Live/X, we are already working on our next project, the Beat Thang v. 2.01 with revolutionary touch sensitive inputs/outputs and four (4!!!!) iconic note repeat buttons for maximum pleasure.
Nice doing business with you.
