I love the pattern to pad feature, particularly for controlling midi CCs not just notes. Does the live have anything like this? Id like the new MPC so im trying to figure out what features I will lose. Does it have anything like simultaneous sequence? Pad cycle or simult pad? Anything else?

It doesn't have Pad patterns..
IT does have a cycle mode, but its on the layer level instead of how jjos works(actually cycles through pads rather than the layer within the pad)
No simult sequence
It has simult pad..
There are many features i love about jjos that i wish was in these new mpcs,
one that i love is parameter value copy in pgm edit.. (holding undo and then pressing the pad you want to copy values too)

But i don't really let these things stop me from using and having fun with these new mpcs...

I still have the 1k with jjos... will never part with it.. (except a friend is borrowing it atm!!)

Biggest thing I miss is ability to use the MPC as a multi-timbral instrument. When triggering the MPC from an external sequencer you can only playback the selected track where as with JJOS I could assign each track a unique MIDI channel and control/trigger each track.

Yea I use Ableton Live as my main sequencer (mostly in the early stages of writing a track) and I like to use the MPC as a drum sound module. Then I'll record my loops (midi & audio), transfer them to the MPC for my live computer-less setup.

Are you saying that you can have each track triggered from another sequencer? I use a cirklon as my main sequencer, so being able to tell the mpc which track to play on the cirklon would be amazing. If so, how do you do this? I've tried looking in the manual and can't find anything.

The chord Functions in jjos it better too... As you can customise the chord for each pad to what ever you want.. You can also change the chord to arp roll like funtion... So it has a strum effect..

Ability to assign mpc functions(f keys, data + -, etc..) with external midi controller..

I have a jjos, how do you do this? I don't see anything about it in the manual.... do you assign notes to the tracks or something?
