Has anyone else run into this problem with their MPC Live? I just tested the inputs, and I couldn't get any audio into the phono/line in. I put 1/4 adapters on the cables and tested out the 1/4 jacks, and those work just fine. I'm positive that I have a faulty unit, and I'm not looking forward to waiting for it to be repaired.

Just wanted to give an update on this post...

I called Akai, and they told me that the way the inputs are set up on the Live are different from the Renaissance.

The RCA jacks will only accept audio at phono level when the switch is set to phono level. This is because the 1/4" jacks share the same input channels, and they cannot be used simultaneously. The 1/4" jacks are line level, the RCA is not.

I don't have a faulty MPC, and I gather that anyone else who runs into this issue will find that they don't either.

Did you ever read the manual? This is not anything new or a secret with all due respect sir/ma'am.

I mean this with all due respect , but sometimes people should read the manual , or in this case, the FAQ on akai site about these instruments.

Another faulty Live? Wow, is Nukai doing any QC at all?

That's what is known as a bad case of premature articulation

What's a manual?

But yeah, you're definitely right. I'm just too lazy to read the manual since the majority of things are pretty self-explanatory. Anything I don't understand, I can find on youtube. But there's the off chance where even those of us who are fairly technologically inclined need to open up the manual.
