The new update 2.0.5 for X and LIVE is up

I read there mono channels which is dope.. but is there only 16 or 32 channels mono.. that would be dope if so .. also could you have 16 mon 16 stereo.. just asking because i habe not tried yet

Sometimes it's dope to pitch up or down w/ a sample, without affecting its tempo. Or vice versa. It's as simple as that! All the old giants of the format pitch up or down. This just allows you to adjust pitch and tempo independently. Pretty useful.

Very useful actually if your a sample based producer,maybe not so much if your not. Definitely a must have for me!

Yeah the process you listed makes it sound better depending on the sample source. It still doesn't sound as good as the software or even offline in the standalone.

Actually it was, that's why some MPC's have four midi outputs to spit out a bunch of midi!!!!!!
Of course they used samples but mostly one-shots ie drums,stabs,etc and not using samples to create the entire vibe of the track, they relay on their skills/talent to play an instrument for that!!!!!!
When I think of sample based producer, I think Preemo,Pete Rock,Madlib..
Not sample based is Scott Storch,Rodney Jerkins, B Cox,etc guys who use the MPC more for it's midi/sequencing than for it's sampling...

Really if your not sampling you should sell the Live or the X because it would be a totally waste of money to use one of these.. the MPC X a dope as F8CK the update was on point .. Now they have to get there software team working on a official update

The X and Live have many features that software programs have and should be kept not just for sampling.

1. Tight azz squencer, don't have to deal with latency and or bogged down to a computer.
2. Instead of manually separating tracks like l did on the 2000XL now we have a feature that will separate the tracks for you which is so sweet.
3. If l have 33 tracks l can export them in a flash to my SD card then drag and drop them in my favorite DAW for mixing. With the legacy MPCs you have to track out which is tedious.
4. When exporting you get to choose which sample rate you wand and bit depth, l love that.
5. The bigger screens are a pleasure to the eyes.
6. X cv inputs are nice to have.
7. Live, battety operated grate for portability.
8. Able to add internally a hard drive of your choice and 2 USB slots to connect more sources.
9. Able to layer more than just 4 sounds and hit one pad and get them to play at the same time.
10. The effects are decent this time around.
11. Much more sampling time than the legacy MPCs.

And many more. I couldn't just get rid of either machine just because lm not sampling. Im not sampling and lm putting my live to work. The features it has l didn't expect to have. All l wanted was to be able to export and that tight sequencer, but got loads more.
