Can somebody help?

I want to automate a hp filter on track 1 (drums) on my sequence.
I have tried automating with the xyxy set on the program, but the same program has my synth sounds, which are playing in track 2, so i would be filtering my synths too.
Any way to automate filter just on track 1??

Thanks in advance!!

Peace Ram

I wanna help you but l gotta know what screen you're in. There are numerous ways to automate. Xyxy you don't use that.
You can automate your filter its easy. You have to set your filter as an EFX on that pad.
Only thing is to type the instructions here and you get it.

Holla back.

Just go to the main screen, tap the pencil next to the program, and "duplicate program". That's the only way to remove x/y automation from a program. (In the same sequence).

He's not trying to remove or duplicate. He is trying to setup an automation filter just on his drums.
I can help him just gotta type a lot lol its easy af!
He already made it easy cause he has drums on track one and synths on track 2.

I get it, but when you automate x/y effect, you can only do it on the whole program. Thus, the easiest thing to do if you have certain samples in that program that you want excluded from that automation is to duplicate the kit, and assign the new kit to the track w/ the samples you wish to be free of the effect.

You're right.

But he wants to set up a LP filter automation without using his finger or XY efx.
Just as someone would want to automate pans, effects, mutes, solo, levels etc.

No, it looks more like he wants to use XY to automate the filter, but exclude a particular sample from the effect of the automation.

Thanks danoc and icepulse for helping out. :worthy:

Yes, I think the program copy solution would be better because there are several drum pads i want to filter in that drum track, so this way I dont have to put an fx on each pad, this would consume RAM right?

Anyways, it is weird you can't do this with a q link automation on a single track like I used to do in my mpc 2500. :|

Let me as you, are you trying to do this using the XY effects or do you want to automate using the QLink knob and Data wheel? If you're trying to do automation with the QLink knobs and it affect one track l can help.

The thing is that the XY style is such a nice way to apply the effects, in a performance-style way, that using little knobs instead just feels less tactile and organic.

They should definitely focus on expanding the XY functionality to include pad-specific automation, and allow more effects to be used through the interface.

I don't use the XY efx. Doesn't do me any good.

Like Marc said.

Look up in the right hand corner you will see you should see 3 circles with 2 lines in it. Looks like piece of a bike chain.

There's 3 dteps to it.
1. Tap it, Red means to record/Write.
2. Green mean read to listen to your automated moves.
3. Off, it will go blank.

Turn it on Red, press play then move your finger on the screen. When finished tap it turn green and listen to your moves. That's. It.
