With a MIDI loop sequencing an external synth, I want to change its root note on the fly to support chord progressions.

There is "transpose" in the track view, but it goes 1 semi tone at the time and is not suitable for live performances

The other option is to duplicate and transpose the loop in multiple sequences and use the "next sequence" screen, but is very laborious

But there must be an easier way to do this?

Thread necromancy... This gets asked from time to time.

Solution seems to exist with the arpeggiator, as suggested here and here: save a pattern as a MIDI file and save it in the arpeggiator's pattern directory... Then it is just another arpeggiator pattern.

If this possible with a stock MPC firmware or does it, as described here, require the SSH remove access modification ?
