After using the MPC-X for a couple weeks now, I've finally completed my 1st track that I think is worth sharing with the public. The track was fully produced, mixed and mastered with the MPC-X in standalone and software mode. No other DAW was used in the process. I haven't had so much fun making a beat since back in the days when I had the MPC4000.

Thanks for listening. I welcome all constructive criticism.

Did you use third party plugs in the software or just the akai stuff?

Thanks Kcearl.
Yes, I used Hybrid 3 for the bass and synth lead, and VPS Avenger for the sines instrument. Lastly, I threw Newfangled Audio Elevate as an insert on the master output channel. I own Ozone 8 and Neutron 2 but I seem to get better and faster results using Elevate as my mastering limiter plugin.

Thanks for the compliments. The X is a beast. I'm glad I was finally able to get my hands on it after waiting for what seemed like forever since I placed the pre-order back in February.

Very nice. Nice and crisp. Truely standalone.

Blue, thanks for the feedback. It did cross my mind to add more vocal chops but in the end I decided less was best. In my opinion, the simplicity of the track is what really made it shine.

You're welcome! Minimalism is always desirable in my mind; you did well!

Been crazy busy with stuff (none of it interesting nor very good). Hoping that as the fall progresses, I can (will!) make more time for music 'n' writing. You doing OK?
