SD Card constantly un-mounting on OSX with MPC Live !?

Is anyone else having issues with the SD Card constantly un-mounting on OSX with MPC Live in controller mode ?

I've bought the MPC Live a few days ago and this issues is frustrating and wonder if it's specific to my unit.

I've tried different SD Cards and have the same issue. Any feedback or advice welcome.

Peace Kalou. Did you format your SD card to exfat? I went through the same thing once l formatted the SD card to exfat its been working ever since.

Hey Danoc - thx for the reply - good to know it's not just me. I thought I did format the SD card to exFAT but I did keep getting errors so perhaps that's were the problem lies.

Will try reformatting and report back. Pretty impossible to use as-is.

There were lots of problems with mis-formatted cards, drives, and usb sticks when first released. Seems that there were some brands of SD cards that worked better (or worse) than others, too (I had to try a second SSD to get one to work). Anyone remember the list? You may have to search the Akai forums for it.

Please let us know what comes of this, OK? Once you get things settled, I’ll bet you’ll dig your Live!

This is really quite frustrating. I tried re-formatting a number of times as ExFat but still having the "Disk not ejected properly" message. Checked the manual and it does say to format as exFat so that's right.

I'm using a legit SanDisk 32GB card with a legit Samsung SD Adapter. I've tried with a couple SD cards and adapters.

I really don't want to return the Live and not convinced that a new unit would fix the problem. Can't really get into the Live until I resolve this!

Are you using an adapter?

Try with a different USB cable.

I thought it might be due to using a USB hub so I connected directly to my MBP and still the same issue. Likewise with the cable.

I realised today if you hold shift when in the browser on the live the option to format the card in the MPC appears. After doing that it wasn't constantly ejecting itself. Only tested for about 10 mins but seems promising.

Micro card and adapter? Not full-size card? I wonder about that; seems there was a problem with that, but I can’t be sure. Anyone?

Unfortunately I don't have a full size SD card to test with.

The formatting in the MPC LIve didn't effect anything. Still constantly ejecting.

I have a hunch that this is your problem.Many systems don’t play well with adapters...I’m afraid you have to confirm it with an actual SD card.Maybe ask a friend or go to a computer shop that has a spare one to test with..

OK - borrowed a full-sized SD card from an old digital camera. Formatted as ExFat both in the MPC Live and also on the MBP. Both times the card is still constantly ejecting itself.

Is no one else is really suffering from this issue should I assume I've got a bad unit, or at least one with a bad SD Card reader? There's not much more I can test...

That is odd. Still, I can't help but think the fault lies in your choice of cards. Try a current card (read: new) and see what happens. If it continues, return for a new unit.

Try using a USB thumb drive.

This ^ It will prove if you have a faulty unit..
