Using the X/Live for archiving and remastering

Has anyone used their MPC for remastering or archiving vinyl? If you have, how were your results. If not can someone try it? DEFINITELY going to grab one when my money gets right. Focusing on what it CAN do instead of what it CAN'T. Thanks to all, in advance.

Yes I use it to record vinyl from Vestax PCV-275 to inputs 3 + 4
Sounds great at 24 bit

how the encoders sound, they are clean and uncolored. whatever you input will sound exactly like that at the output.

there is a "vintage mode" on the instrument that mimics older mpcs (mpc 60, etc) at the output, so if you are looking for a more colored and less clean sound, you can invoke that mode.

don't expect the instrument to make something better than what it is--the instrument will only give you a clean copy of what you give it.

It sounds good for sampling, but not sure I'd use it for archiving vinyl unless you don't have any other source. Even an apogee duet 2 blows the converters of the mpc out of the water for straight uncolored sound.

I would basically just be using the MPC as a method to get it into a DAW. I have few DAW's, so getting the sound the way I want it won't be a problem. Thanks for your opinion though.

Bro the X and live are transparent. They are not going to color your sound input unless you set it up to do so.

True that, it's not like the 3000, or MPC 60, but you can color the sound definitely if one uses the SP1200 Ring, 3000 etc on it.
